Howdy, folks.

I got the Eclipse back up and running a few months back and am curious as to what times it's pulling even in the blistering heat. Money's tight right now, but I was wondering if some of you guys could tell me about the tracks around here.

I live in Pflugerville. I've been told about RCR down in San Antonio as a good track, but that's a pretty good hike from me up north. I've done some internet searching and found a "Central Texas Raceway Park", but the web-link is broken so I don't know if they're even still in business.

Fill me in? :)

There is one at 1325 and C. R. 172. When on 1325 north and it t's off at 172 look towards the right and you will see a break in the trees. Theres a quarter mile track there if you dont mind runing with some grass/ debris on the track. :D Oh theres also a fence in the middle of it too. I think it use to be austin park and raceway or something..

Good luck

Do they have a website? Any idea of what nights host what events? Cost of admission?

San Antonio Raceway and Templa Academy Dragway are the only 2 tracks in the Austin Area.

I live in Georgetown and drive the extra 30 min to go to SAR

The Temple track is very interesting to say the least...tree sap is used instead of VHT :D And the spectators can literally put their hand thru the fence and touch a car as it goes down the track  Only track I've seen where you can actually get up close enough to the track and feel the air blow by as the cars go by. And if racing the 1/4 you need to make sure your brakes are in good order, not much room at the end.

TAD does have character, but I will only run therre in 12 sec or slower cars.

after a 1/4mile pass you only have 1/8 mile of shut down and that even has a curve in it
