So a guy at my work is talking about buying an LS1 WS6. He's big (I'd guess 6'5", probably 300), so I offered to take him for a ride so that he could see if he would fit in the car. I was surprised at how well he did, but I feel sorry for anyone that rides in the back seat with him driving. With me driving, there's actually some legroom back there, but with him, there's about half an inch.
Anyway, I took him for a ride. As I'm waiting to turn out of the business complex where we work, a blue '99-04 Mustang GT rumbled by. And I mean rumbled. Most definitely not a stock exhaust (huge tips, too). I was going to turn left, but he went by to the right, and so I decided to go right and follow him.
He must have seen me behind him, because when traffic cleared, he gunned it. I was hoping he would, so I was already in the right gear (2nd, about 50mph). He took off, and I hung with him. We caught up with some traffic and slowed down, and then the car in front of him stopped to turn left. When the car in front was clear, he took off. I gained a couple of feet through first gear, but he held his position in 2nd and 3rd.
He then turned into a neighborhood, and we proceeded straight.
So anyway, I'm going to have to figure out who this guy is. If he lives in that neighborhood, he lives less than five miles from my house. I figure there's either a mild supercharger or at least some good bolt-ons under the hood to let the 4.6 keep up with me.
Cliff's notes: even race with an unknown '99-04 GT with mystery mods.
I figure that without a 300lb passenger, I would have pulled on him a little.
