LT1 to LS1frankthetank078 09-03-2006, 02:02 AM around how much would it cost to upgrade my brakes from stock LT1 to LS1's rotors and dual piston calipers? IdahoLT1 09-03-2006, 02:19 AM Got my calipers, rotors and spindles on ebay around 220ish. I bought the Hawk pads and i think they were ~$70. Rotors had to be turned though and that was another $40. Definatelly worth the money. frankthetank078 09-03-2006, 02:55 AM really.... is it that much better stopping power from stock? did you get them all around or just front? IdahoLT1 09-03-2006, 03:01 AM Some people say its as noticeable as swapping 4.10's on a 2.73. I just got the fronts done. I think problems with the LT1-LS1 rear brakes happen when changing out the rear end to a 9" or 12 bolt:shrug: , thats why i didnt do them. Someone correct me if Im wrong. 2000GTP 09-03-2006, 05:26 PM I bought the entire assemblies with new pads and rotors from a board member for only 150.00 bucks. It is definitely a good bang for the buck brake upgrade. razor02097 09-04-2006, 09:34 PM You can get the calipers, rotors and brake pads from napa, autozone, advanced, pep boys, or any other place. Calipers would be around $40 each + core which you might be able to slip the LT1 calipers for core ;) The rotors are cheap and the pads are cheap... probably around $100 total. The only thing you need are spindles and hub assemblys. You'de probably find em in a junk yard for cheap... Probably around $50-$100. Brake lines can be ordered online I believe you need em 3" longer then stock LT1 or maybe bend the brake line bracket a little... not sure since I haven't gotten the parts yet. figure between $150 and $250 depending. | ||
