Make it a 2 door and I think it's awesome.

I like it. 4 door all the way. With the popularity and looks of the quad cab trucks there may be a small market for a more car-stanced truck.

You're obviously a talented artist.
But I dont like it.

It's ok, but I think you'd lose too much bed, unless you give it the Avalanche treatment.

What I was thinking.

Well, I have always hated the el camino, but that aside, it should really be a two door. Even if it was the coolest car out there I still wouldn't drive one though.

Yeah, that wouldn't look bad at all as a two door, the four just doesn't look right.

I can't take credit for drawing that. I got it off of C&G.

Since the El Camino was always car based, it should have a car front end, not a truck. I'm wondering what it would look like w/ the concept front end, 2 doors, and a bed.....could be interesting

I don't know, I think the front end looks far more elegant than a Colorado.

In a 2-door it would work for me.

Intresting idea, but it really shouldn't have a Camaro nose.

A true El Camino needs a useable bed. Otherwise its not an El Camino.

Agreed. And, it's my fault that it does. I requested the drawing to see what such a vehicle would look like and I was pleased with the results. However, it would be hugely improved with a Camaroectomy.:D

I always wanted to see this in the states, for me it screams El Camino.

I think a Holden Maloo R8 Ute would make a good El Camino, personally.

Well, I have always hated the el camino,

I've always thought they were ugly, and a bit stupid.

If you want a truck bed, get a truck...

I always thought the one my stepdad had when I was little was hideous even back then...

if it makes it to production (unlikely) they cant make the mistake of having it be an overweight pig like the ssr

El Camino has been hovering around the edges of approval for a long time now, so it's chances are unknowable. One thing is certain though, if built, it won't be a heavy BOF vehicle like SSR. It would be a zeta, zeta light, global RWD platform based vehicle. Also, it won't be a needlessly complex product like SSR.

If they build it, I'll be buying one.

looks good! Making it in 2 and 4 door would probably be smart. Crew cab is the #1 selling Colorado cab configuration.

Never been big on El Camino's, but I like the "chopped Colorado" look of this one. I always hated the car with a truck bed styling, but I am perfectly ok with a truck on a car platform, especially for those people that don't use their trucks like trucks. Heck, cross overs or the big thing right now. Also, I agree with Z28x having both 2 and 4 door versions would be a smart move (if they were going to make a new El Camino).

I actually kinda like it with the Camaro nose. I wouldn't hate the idea of them sharing it, especially if it could benefit the Camaro in the long run. Maybe help lower the cost a little by adding more volume to it. Help spread the cost out.

It wouldn't be the only other vehicle spreading the cost if it were built in NA. And I could probably live with the Camaro nose though the Impala nose might make more sense. In all likelyhood, it would be built off of the VE ute in Australia if it were to happen. I'm fine with either If I can buy one in SS trim with an M6 and an LS2 or better.
