- The Detroit Free Press is reporting that after a 40% sales slide through July, Ford has ended production for the minivan.

I would say that the Ford Freestar isn't far behind and the hits keep on coming for Ford.

Its probably more of 'cutting the fat off the meat, for Ford in the long run to do this.

Since it aparently cost a trillion-zillion dollars to badge another existing car... lol (according to the regulars here)

Ford needs to stop production of Mercury, if all they intend to do is throw a grille and new taillights onto Fords.

Well, thats been the case with Mercury more often then not. No one would care if the Fords they were based off of didn't suck.

That being said, the Freestar was stillborn so this is a big no suprise.

Does anyone know if the Fairlane is going to be it's replacement?

I am going to be completely honest here....

I had no idea the Mercury Monterey existed.
