I installed the new LT4 clutch and pressure plate and am trying to put the thing back together. How do I reattach the shift arm to the throw out bearing? I even had my wife under the car turning the motor over while I tried to push the arm back over the bearing. Pour Pamela, I know. Anyway the LT4 throwout bearing is not smooth like the stock one. I think it is six sided and that it just has to be turned in the perfect spot. But no luck. I have beer.

The clutch fork slides in and out over the throw-out bearing when the tranny is installed on the bell housing. How how to pull out the fork to remove the tranny in the first place. Push it in at a 45 degree angle and it should click in place.

Push it in at a 45 deg angle? The arm is spring loaded and doesn't allow for much angle besides just a straight push. It hasn't slid on, I just have it over the back flange of the bearing. I am assuming it should stay under the 2 springs.

The angle is towards the front right corner of the car; if you look at the fork you will see that the end with the "ball recess" that the slave cylinder mates to is not perpendicular to the bell housing.

It may be a case where your springs arms needs to be lubricated to allow the fork to push back in place.

Thanks. I'll doing some more pushing when I get home.

I don't think it needs to be lubricated, the previous leaking rear main fixed that. But I will try anything to have the car back this weekend.
