bufmatmuslepants 08-28-2006, 01:06 AM pulled out of engineering campus friday, was behind a WRX, noticed he had an exhaust. we both pull out from the light and you have to go left and its 1 lane. so he NAILS it...(blue smoke comes out of his exhaust...POS *** cars). i get on it...get sideways (woops) so he gets about 10 cars on me out of the turn, i get traction and reel him in slowly by the time i hit 3rd, road goes to 2 lane, slammed third go to pass him, cars in the right lane so i have to duck back in behind the wrx. ended up catchin him so much i had to let off the throttle real quick. entered the turn at about 100 and he moves over cuz i was on his ASS by this point, i go past him and start slowin down. get to the next light, im turnin left, he goes slowly past me and gives me the thumbs up. good race, but as he went by slowly you could definitley tell he had stuff done to that car. that was my first good race...and was a TON of fun!
Dave K 08-28-2006, 09:28 AM I had a brief run with a co-worker who has a very nice modified STI last week. WRX's don't give me any problems but this car was pretty darn fast, he said it dyno'd at 400 hp and I believe him. He was in front of me at a roundabout and nailed at the exit, I did the same and he pulled maybe 3 cars on me up to 60 from the time advantage... by then I'm normally reeling in a WRX pretty soundly but I could just barely keep him from inching away from me. Impressive cars when properly set up and they sound awesome.

The STi (or any 2.5 liter Subaru, hint, hint :D) is a much closer comparison. Giving it a turbo that will hold just stock boost till redline results in easy mid 12s and rasing the boost after that is just gravy.
2 years ago I would have said you were crazy if you said I was going to own a Subaru. Now I can't wait to slap some mods on my car and get it where it should be but as usual, there have been other priorities till now.

Wow John. Long time no hear! I've been waiting to see what you've done with the LGT. It seems like you've been getting something together for a while on that thing. I am fplanning on up/dp and "stg II" tuning. I know you are anti-corp programmers but I needed to be cautious and don't know a lick about programming or datalogging. Keep your website updated, as I check it continuously for changes.

Hell I know some boys in Louisville that absolutely love suburus. All in all nice little cars. I was up there recently and rode in their 500hp forrester. Talk about a sleeper. Gotta say I wouldn't mind having one to toy around with.

My 94 Z with only CAI and Catback ran DEAD even with my friends 2002 WRX with downpipe, full catless catback, BOV, and shortthrow from a roll. From a stop he would jump me from the start and I would pull back and be even at about the quarter mile.
My other friend with a STI beats me by about 3 cars from a stop. When he use to have downpipe, CAI, exhaust, and tune he would put probably about 10 cars on me easy. (His best run was a 12.9)
