If you could change just one or two things about the new Camaro's appearance, what would it be?
Personally, I don't care for the grill. If the SS looked like this pic with the different grill and hood, I would buy it in a second, and love how the car looks from bumper to bumper. I strongly believe that if this pic turned into production it would boost sales of the Cars as well.
1badLS1M6 08-25-2006, 02:02 PM I would change the front end. I don't like the recessed lights and grill. I'd prefer them to be flush with the rest of the car.
JB'z 94 08-25-2006, 02:40 PM its not as retro as others, but its still retro... I would want to change the interior more than anything.
GRNcamaro 08-25-2006, 03:49 PM nothing i like it as is
unvc92camarors 08-25-2006, 04:15 PM The hood scoop. It doesn't need one and it looks a little gaudy. I'd rather just have the slight cowl appearance that it has without the scoop.
stars1010 08-25-2006, 04:33 PM Make the interior more C6/modern.......that is all.....
georgejetson 08-25-2006, 04:39 PM I'd make it a little less wide.
stars1010 08-25-2006, 04:40 PM I'd make it a little less wide.
I hear you will get your wish
Jacoz35thSS 08-25-2006, 05:07 PM We know the interior is changing for sure, but I for one would move the scoop to the hood. As we see the KrisH version, it would be tough to put an aftermarket hood on. Then you'd have two scoops, and I'm not talkin' raisins here.
slayerxxx213 08-25-2006, 05:44 PM Sleeker front end, (ala more 4th genish), lower roof height and the interior is a given...I must say though that as far as outward appearence goes I'm realistically hoping it'll look like that drawing...The big air dam on the front really makes it look so much better
willz 08-25-2006, 06:16 PM change nothing
stars1010 08-25-2006, 06:38 PM We know the interior is changing for sure, but I for one would move the scoop to the hood. As we see the KrisH version, it would be tough to put an aftermarket hood on. Then you'd have two scoops, and I'm not talkin' raisins here.
I heard that the scoop moving back onto the hood was a possibility of things to change.
And your right, it makes sense for aftermarket hoods.
Eddie Z-28 08-25-2006, 07:10 PM I just dont want to see massive wheels on it from the factory. It's a sports car not a luxury ride. Also, the interior needs to be toned down a little I think. Other than that I think the designers have done a great job with it.
5thgen69camaro 08-25-2006, 07:16 PM I would reduce the fender flares to make the sides of the car seem less flat in comparison.
I heard that the scoop moving back onto the hood was a possibility of things to change.

to the back of the cowl?
97z28/m6 08-25-2006, 07:30 PM less retro nose & hatchback.
Shockwave 08-25-2006, 07:33 PM The lack of T-Tops makes me so mad I could shake a baby.
mobleman 08-25-2006, 07:34 PM Love the oustide, rather they redesigned the interior though.. I'm a big fan of the GTO interiors...
Loony 08-25-2006, 09:02 PM If it came out like that drawing, with just a cowl hood(I love that front lip!) and if they did a little interior-retro/2+C6=win.
Honestly, if it stays the same, I'm buying one anyways as long as there's a black on yellow car... :D
SCNGENNFTHGEN 08-25-2006, 10:35 PM The red version in the drawing, would make a really sweet RS option and would sell like hot cakes IMO. I actually love the large scoop on it, the LS7, and 68 RS style grille. I have no problem with large wheels either, I don't think they'll be that big for production anyway. :D I wouldn't get red, but it might make me stray from a Z/28!:o
MasterEvilAce 08-25-2006, 10:51 PM The lack of T-Tops makes me so mad I could shake a baby.
lmfao
Deutsch 08-25-2006, 10:53 PM downsize the freak'n wheels!!!
CALL911 08-26-2006, 12:09 PM There's a part of me that is like many of you in the sense that I would like the interior more like some common GM sports cars like the C6, but there's another part of me that is reminded of the old 70's Camaro's interior that I like seeing in new designs. Either way it doesn't seem to matter much seeing as how GM will have a different interior for the final production car anyhow.
As for the large wheels, I wouldn't be surprised to see these actually on the production car. Just look at new cars hitting the streets each year. The Corvette alone keeps getting larger and larger wheels. I expect the wheels on the new Camaro to be large ones. I just hope that if the drawing I posted at the beggining of this thread isn't in the production of the vehicles, that some aftermarket company offers a body kit so I could make my Camaro look like the one I posted.
CamaroFan1718 08-26-2006, 04:03 PM downsize the freak'n wheels!!!
All concept cars have big rims.........production wont be that big.
RussStang 08-26-2006, 04:12 PM its not as retro as others, but its still retro... I would want to change the interior more than anything.
Yes. The interior has not grown on me at all. At this point I doubt it ever will. Hope the production interior is much different.
Jim the Nomad 08-26-2006, 04:36 PM some iroc-style hood louvers would be a selling point for me, and a grille that looks more like the drawing and less like the concept...
SVTNTMR 08-26-2006, 05:22 PM I cant stand the vent/scoop in the header panel, it clutters the fron end.
The car is a little too big for me, down size it a little and ditch the IRS.
The SS should be more than just an appearance package also.
Keep it clean/simple.
For sale, check classifieds..

1987IROC350 08-26-2006, 08:16 PM I want a cut off front end look. Much much less pointy. And I want T-tops or better yet a targa top like the Vettes. I'm not a conv. guy.
Ardskoay 08-26-2006, 09:56 PM For the people who say you want the car less pointy, Do you not think the car would look very stubby if it were flatter? Not to mention, it would also look less agressive. Lastly, all Camaros are pointy. If anything, I would like it a bit pointier.
90 Z28SS 08-27-2006, 12:42 AM All concept cars have big rims.........production wont be that big.
....but , Lutz said at the unveiling that the wheels would be scaled down to more appropriate 20" .....thats still way to big . A nice set of DISHED 18" rims will do just fine ....the flangeless wheels really need to go bye bye .
The interior is a gimme ;)
Brandon_Lutz 08-27-2006, 11:20 AM I like that drawing's front end. Give me a front like that and a more modern, Corvette like interior in it's design.
SCNGENNFTHGEN 08-27-2006, 11:58 AM Let us see what engines, are going with what options before I decide. Z/28RS, RS/SS. What I'd want changed? Man the car is just smokin' hot , for me it's shouldn't have the guages half in the dash. That's it. I really don't have any other bitches about the car. I love the Amber (or actually insert fav color for lighting) backround lighting & how it ties into the door panels. As for the scoop in the header panel, it should be V8 only, then the guys who don't like it can change it & opt for the much larger in your face HOOD scoop. Like the one on the red drawing. :D I would like to see some dish to the wheels too. And whoever has the white Camaro posted! That is hot.
OutsiderIROC-Z 08-27-2006, 08:12 PM The ugly a$$ taillights.
The red version in the drawing, would make a really sweet RS option and would sell like hot cakes IMO. I actually love the large scoop on it, the LS7, and 68 RS style grille. holy crap, i just blasted a load, that is awesome

Now that looks good! I hate that ugly grill in the concept!
I also would like to see the car lowered at the beltline a little. The pics of the car on the road from the dream cruise showed that the car looks kinda goofy due to the height of the beltline. I know some smaller dia. wheels will help somewhat however it will still have the same height at the beltline. But the height from the belt to the top of the roof needs to stay the same to keep that sleek squat look. Heck just take the space out of the rear seat area for the front occupants. The rear seat comfort always sucks in a pony car anyhow. Thats not what the car is all about.
CCoop8830 09-04-2006, 12:07 PM Only change I can think of is make it black for me!! That car looks so mean and just puts the modern edge into the classic design, which is what i like the most.
91Z28350 09-04-2006, 01:03 PM Only one thing I would change from that drawing, and that is to make it a reality! I think that drawing completely captures the spirit of the Camaro, blending modern and heritage into a whole that is greater than the sum of it's parts.
Nice job McBride!
FactoryZ 09-04-2006, 06:46 PM I'm still trying to figure out where the front license plate will go without screwing up the looks of it. Some of us live in states that require it and have lots of Barney Fifes around. :( Have you seen what the C6 looks like with the front plate? Blahh. Messes up the whole look of it.
EllwynX 09-05-2006, 12:18 PM I'm still trying to figure out where the front license plate will go without screwing up the looks of it. Just do what I do. Leave the plate off.
I hated the front plate on my 2000 S10 Xtreme. The plate filler that had 'S10 Xtreme' molded into it was much better looking. I never got pulled over by local police.
As long as they don't require holes to be drilled in the front anywhere I won't mind. I hated that they drilled holes in the grille of my '02 Camaro's grille. I had wanted to leave the plate off and fill in the 'CAMARO' molded in it. But once holes were drilled it would have looked worse without the plate imo.
JCS30TH 09-05-2006, 12:45 PM That red one is perfect once smaller wheels are on.
dacook 09-05-2006, 03:48 PM I guess I'm in the minority but my least favorite feature is the side molds; too much like Mustang. Smooth 'em out.
Patrick Davies 09-05-2006, 04:28 PM Sleeker front end, and narrower overall. I'd also like to see an optional "SS" grill, with the headlights hidden behind covers. I agree on the wheel size comments: 18" is just fine, there is no need for 20" wheels. Give us some exciting color choices, too. Finally, if T-Tops aren't available, a nice power moonroof would be great.
Tigger#76 11-11-2006, 12:34 AM I love the front and sides on the concept. Grills and hoods are easy enough to change later if I want to. The back end has never looked quite right to me though. I'd flip (vertical) the outer tail lights so that the outer most edge of the tail lights follow the curve of the rear quarter and the inner tail lights flow into the outer ones more. I'd also lower the rear bumper about 2" to 3" making the TV panel taller and move the tail lights down with the bumper but make them an inch or so taller (the exhaust outlets would have to be adjusted for the lowered bumper too with either cut outs from the bumper, or wide and flat outlets so they still fit underneath the bumper). If I ever find any free time, I'll photoshop up an example so it's easier to see.
skibbez93z 11-11-2006, 02:39 PM yeah tigger try to photoshop one i would definately like to see that. it sounds interesting. i like the hatchback that was photoshoped by someone a little while ago, but i know that will never happen. but i dont really see a problem with the 20'' wheels... are they needed?? no, definately not! but they do look good IMO. but really i have no big complaints other then i would really like to see a moon roof option.
StuckInNYForever 11-11-2006, 03:07 PM It's funny. The things I would change would end up making it look even more like a '69 Camaro. Those things are actually what I have read will be changed - higher roof line, an inch or so thinner in width, and smaller wheels. God I feel old saying that! I always said that if they can put a '69 Camaro body on a modern performance car with over 300 HP and under $30k, I would get it (I hate Mustangs, but even the new Mustang made me think it over). Now it is reality. Looks like I will be a Camaro owner in a few years!
arjainz 11-13-2006, 08:17 PM That drawing is perfect! Make the side mirror like that in the drawing instead of the pointy ones in the concept. That drawing also has a bit more curves than the concept's corners. Make it exactly like that.
0toinsanein5.4sec 11-14-2006, 01:53 PM i say give me that PHR drawing and id be very happy
PaintBallR 11-24-2006, 05:01 PM Ya for me I would change that front end alittle.
I really like that drawing, if the car looks like that in final production, it will sell...big time. What get's me is how the front comes to a point, it need to be flattened out or sucked in.
90rocz 11-24-2006, 10:22 PM Front facia, especially the grille.
Dash / I.P.
I'd like a more modern approach, with just a nastalgic "feel"...
dacook 11-28-2006, 03:09 PM Side molds smoother; more like 1st gen, less like Mustang.
