What do these aftermarket parts provide besides weight loss? It seems crazy to spend around $1000 to drop under 40 lbs.

OBE1 95Z28 08-24-2006, 02:51 PM A tubular K-member greatly improves access for servicing the engine. It's worth it to me just to be able to get the driver's side spark plugs from the bottom; I used to have to remove my aftercooler to get to them from the top. Severous01 08-30-2006, 04:31 PM personally i wouldnt do the "mod" just to do it. if you've broken a k=member and need to replace it...then do so. IMO it's just for header clearance issues or show car "mods". waste of money. spend the grand on other suspension parts that make a difference like control arms and torque arm. front upper and lower control arms too. Injuneer 08-30-2006, 07:55 PM If you're trying to chop serious weight off the car, its one of the things that will cut a decent amount of dead weight off the front of the car. There are people running 3,000# race weight in 4th Gens. The tubular k-member, A-arms, light-weight shocks and brakes help achieve that kind of weight reduction. | ||
