Battery goes dead in two days...wrd1972 08-20-2006, 08:34 PM My battery goes dead in two days, I have ruled out aftermarket stereo. When you disconnect then reconnect the battery wires you get a great deal of sparking indicating current draw. Has anyone seen this before. Has anyone seen this before. What can cause this to happen? Disconnect wires negative first positive second. Reconnect positve first negative second for minimal sparks. If you do the opposite you'll get sparks whether there is abnormal current draw or not. ze doktor 08-21-2006, 03:27 PM Check that your system is charging and that you have no parasitic drain when the engine is off. it's quite possible one of your relays is bad and eating juice while the car is off. i had an issue with my fan relays and it would typically take 3 to 4 days to make the car unstartable. wrd1972 08-24-2006, 02:25 PM I hooked up an amperage meter an found that I had 1 amp of current draw, sounded like a light bulb. I found that I had my alarm trigger wire hooked up wrong on the trunk switch and light stayed on all the time. It was being fed voltage from the plunger switch under the hood. The problem is I have to have the same phase switches (normally closed) which the trunk switch is not. After I get a new switch for the trunk all will be well. Just one of them little electrical glitches. | ||
