anyone from here? that was friggin nuts.

ever see a kid with a skateboard "grind" a handrail or something similar? yea, thats what this z28 did with the guardrail last night before ALMOST flipping onto its roof.

i'm pretty sure there was either something on the track or it just wasn't prepped like normal, cause about 10 minutes before you went my own 1-2 shift got really funny and i decided that was time to park it. the track seemed more dangerous than normal last night, especially after they almost let that guy with coolent shooting out of his bike go down the track.

Yea I saw that Z28 wreck last night.... I'm suprised he managed not to go over the rail... and keep on two wheels.... I believe it was an LS1....Yea it didn't seem like they were up too much on the track maintenance .... Some pickup ran in that same lane after the wreck and something fell out of the bed and sat in the lane for about 10 mins and they were still doing runs before it was finally picked up....

Man, that sucks.

I too was actually thinking of making it to the track this week, but am having second thoughts after hearing this.

Is OSW still really as bad as people say it is?

I ask because I ran there once (first time at track) and thought it was alright, but spent the rest of my track time at Bradenton (GREAT track), and have now moved back to Orlando, but am wondering if it's even worth risking my car at OSW.

in short, yea usually what you hear about OSW is true. usually its not too bad if you get there early and get your first two runs in, the track is prepped and there arn't many people there. after the first two runs or so they pretty much stop track prep.

its also starting to turn fairly ghetto with trash that come in and think the track is part of their "hood" especially later at night.

I saw that too. That happened about 30 minutes after my last run. That really sucks for that guy. I was about to go up to him and ask him if he wanted to sell some dash pieces but I probably would have gotten puched in the face. He screwed that thing up pretty bad. I was having some traction problems myself.

its kind of hit or miss... I mean, I snapped the output shaft on my tranny on the launch with street tires, and that one vid of the white z28 that did a unexpected wheelstand. SO it can hook at times...

but I also got the tail loose once, on a 2-3 powershift in a 3.4L v6 with all whopping 160hp and 200 ft. lbs of torque it had. I don't think I ever got that car to even do that in the rain with bald tires.
