What would it take to break 11's with one?? myslowcamaro 08-19-2006, 09:52 AM full bolt ons h/c or fi, or n20. how deep in the 11's you talking? high 11's many on here have done it with dr's, gears, and h/c like myself JuicedZ 08-19-2006, 04:52 PM Consistent high 11's would be fine.. ;) h/c, fi???? <---- what is that short for? "I'm a noob to LS1's  " OrbitalChris 08-19-2006, 04:55 PM he means forced induction (supercharger/turbocharger) but everything he said will defintely do it, and if you dont want ur rear end to explode the first run id get a 12bolt rear lol 00cls1camaross 08-19-2006, 06:37 PM you dont even need that bro boltons ie all intake and exhaust mods and a pulley 4000 stall + M/T DRs and a good suspension... cam would put you in there consistantly.... myslowcamaro 08-19-2006, 06:43 PM btw, you a4 (auto) or m6 (manual)? if a4, rear should be fine. ive launched hard on bfg drag radials and 3.73's and im fine. im running stock torque converter tho (tc) Greed4Speed 08-20-2006, 12:26 PM Try a search in the LS1 section. There are 2 pretty recent threads covering this. You can get there w/bolt-on only given good track conditions and if you lighten your car enough. JuicedZ 08-20-2006, 01:55 PM Sounds good.... Thanks for the info. everyone! JuicedZ 08-21-2006, 01:58 AM btw, you a4 (auto) or m6 (manual)? if a4, rear should be fine. ive launched hard on bfg drag radials and 3.73's and im fine. im running stock torque converter tho (tc) I actually decided to research this a bit before i purchased my next one. I owned a 94 Z28, "6 spd,cam,headers,N20 etc..." but grew tired of the noisy clutch's i kept having to put in it. I would prefer an auto this time around, but haven't heard much about the durability of the 4l60E "i'm assuming it's a 60" that the auto's come with. I was hoping that the rear would live in it with an auto. SmokinChevy 08-24-2006, 09:50 PM 800hp shot of nitrous! myslowcamaro 08-24-2006, 11:33 PM I actually decided to research this a bit before i purchased my next one. No slicks needed, not when you have drag radials like the M/T ET street... For 11.xxx you need some stuff like: 1) drag radial tires 2) boxed lower control arms with poly bushings, and a T/A stud girdle for the rear axle, which should be equipped with 3.42 to 3.73 gears. 3) Good stall converter, like the PI Vigilante, though there are many others out there now. 2700 to 3200 RPM stall. 4) High flow intake system 5) Good set of headers and a cat-back exhaust system 6) camshaft swap, with new springs & pushrods 7) Re-tune on a chassis dyno by a professional. 8) Helmet. That ought to do it. | ||
