You dont need an amp to match up exactly with the rms of your subs, 50 or so lower is just fine, rms is the ammount of continuious power it can provide, yes.. but not all the time are you going to be going around with your stero turned all the way up needing all that power rms and peak is basicly just a selling point for amps and subs, people usualy think the bigger the better of course.. but its not and you wont need it.
Now, if you do have a bit of extra coin to spend, the sure get a bigger amp so if you ever do decide to get some bigger subs you wont need to upgrade the amp also, just turn down the gain low enough if it is a more powerful amp so you dont get that anoyying sound of wires hitting the basket all the time and then blowing your subs, i used a 4,500 rms amp to power my single little kicker for the longest time until i got around to getting my 2 adire brahmas

You probably want to hear them before buying. I tried Kicker, JL (500/1), Hifonics (Brutus) amps for my sub, but ended up with Rockford Fosgate monoblock, which produces the sound I like. All sounded different.

go for a zapco. a 500.1 will give clean, consistent, reliable power. it will last you forever. a little expensive but it will be worth it. I gave one to my best friend and he has been smiling ever since.

JL audio is the way to go.. run a 10w3 or an older 10w6 in a JL audio stealth box. this setup hits very hard and will make the hatch vibrate! The one amp can run the while system... if you can find one, I would use an old PPI amp PCx480 and use the Q-bass to control the sub.
