has anyone heard 2010 for camaro???Hawk 07-31-2006, 08:58 PM I have some info that I heard that they camaro is scheduled for production model year 2010. Has anyone heard this?? toegead93 07-31-2006, 09:26 PM I think we've heard everything from 08, 09, to '10. Of course nothing offical from GM so it's just purely assumptions. Most likely it will be an '08 or '09 MY. MarcR94v6 07-31-2006, 10:00 PM 2010 = might as well not do it. Unless it's in 09 as an 2010...might not be as bad. 2000SilverLS1 07-31-2006, 10:04 PM If the Camaro debuts as a MY2009, maybe the top model or will be 2010. I recall hearing that the top model would be another year or something. CLEAN 07-31-2006, 11:41 PM By 2010, I'll be well into a C6, it better be sooner! greg_nate 07-31-2006, 11:57 PM 2010 = might as well not do it. Unless it's in 09 as an 2010...might not be as bad. I agree...by 2010, GM will have completely lost any momentum they might have gained with the concept. And who knows what gas prices will be like. lil_mikey69 08-01-2006, 01:20 AM I sure hope not. The hype will be dead by then, or at least most of it. guionM 08-01-2006, 06:44 AM GM is well aware that it needs to get Camaro out as quickly as possible, and seem headlong into doing just that. :) POWERFREAK 08-01-2006, 09:06 AM Not sure if I'd wait that long...I just sold my weekend car...I have a nice downpayment under the bed, so not sure I can hold off buying a new ride more than a year maybe 2. COME ON GM. 2lane69 08-01-2006, 09:39 AM Not sure if I'd wait that long...I just sold my weekend car...I have a nice downpayment under the bed, so not sure I can hold off buying a new ride more than a year maybe 2. COME ON GM. What's your address? :D J/K I'm working on the assumption of a self-fulfilling prophecy that it'll be here in a year. Bradl1982 08-01-2006, 11:30 AM I hope not. I have the new car bug right now. I went and test drove a gto this weekend and it was pretty nice. I want to wait and buy the Camaro but over 3 years is too long to wait. EllwynX 08-01-2006, 11:49 AM I hope not. I have the new car bug right now. I went and test drove a gto this weekend and it was pretty nice. I want to wait and buy the Camaro but over 3 years is too long to wait. Same here. I was considering a new truck just the other day. But I didn't want to budge on my (self-imposed) payment limit. Otherwise I'd have picked up a new Dakota yesterday... I can't take driving the Aveo 3 more years... LandonElf 08-01-2006, 11:53 AM Same here. I can't take driving the Aveo 3 more years... Get a cobalt! That satisfied my performance bug VERY well. EllwynX 08-01-2006, 12:11 PM Get a cobalt! That satisfied my performance bug VERY well. It's not just 'performance' I'm looking for though. It's something more 'upscale' from the Aveo. If I'd been willing to budge $50 I'd be in a loaded '06 V8 Dakota Quad Cab TRX4 or Sport right now... But I just didn't want the payment quite that high. (Only reason it was that high is the Aveo being upside down. 'Cause with the Employee Pricing Plus $2500 rebate the price was more than low enough. Aveo's worth at least $4000 less than I owe though... Damn Aveo!) The Cobalt IS more upscale than an Aveo for sure. But still not quite the level I have an itch for after the lowscale Aveo... Charger, 300, Monte Carlo SS, Colorado, Dakota are more what I'm interested in. If a woman where I work hadn't just gotten a Silver Caliber, I'd consider one. And I love the HHR, but they're both about the level of the Cobalt also. Nice, but after being deprived for over a year, I want to over compensate. LOL And IF the Camaro was to surprise us and come out sooner, I'd be really PO'd if I had to drive my car a couple more years knowing I COULD have a new Camaro. Z28x 08-01-2006, 12:28 PM I have some info that I heard that they camaro is scheduled for production model year 2010. Has anyone heard this?? From who? I've heard that date for the RWD Impala, but not the Camaro. 2008 for the Camaro graham 08-01-2006, 12:30 PM Ill give GM the credit for sense to not wait til 2010. HAZ-Matt 08-01-2006, 01:14 PM RP said 20XX... turns out it will really be a 2099 and it won't even have wheels because it will hover with antigravity technology. Hawk 08-01-2006, 02:56 PM I have a document that shows planned production of certain cars. This document was given to me by a friend who works for mercedes benz and has access to a database that shows car production plans from other manufacters. I told him to look up camaro for me in the GM database. This database is for car companies only. From what I saw of the document is planned a 2010 production run, but then again dates change I guess or hope! I was just wondering if anyone else has any documentation or heard anything about 2010 to confirm........... Brian 2000SilverLS1 08-01-2006, 04:31 PM Never heard of such a thing. Why didn't we check this thing out before? Hawk 08-01-2006, 04:59 PM Never heard of such a thing. Why didn't we check this thing out before? well, right on the document I have it says "not for public release" and my friend told me not to show anyone or give it out, maybe thats why. My nameless friend shall remain nameless, and I'm not going to spread this document around. graham 08-01-2006, 05:13 PM So its what GM is 'releasing' to DCX about its future plans? Hawk 08-01-2006, 05:26 PM So its what GM is 'releasing' to DCX about its future plans? yes, but how accurate is that?? Atleast it's something in writting on some kind of "official" company database, so I don't know............ According to my friend this database is a common database for many car companies so that they can see each others cars and share info they want to share.......... DvBoard 08-01-2006, 05:53 PM yes, but how accurate is that?? Atleast it's something in writting on some kind of "official" company database, so I don't know............ According to my friend this database is a common database for many car companies so that they can see each others cars and share info they want to share.......... unless it comes from GM consider it unreliable as not even those who work for GM know for sure yet (well most of 'em i'm assuming ;)) v8pwrdz28 08-01-2006, 05:58 PM if the camaro comes out in 2010 or is built in 2010, my bird will be paid off and ill either be looking at a cobra or challenger, screw the 5th gen. graham 08-01-2006, 06:18 PM I think if GM tells DCX 2010, OR DCX predicts 2010, you can all but put money on '08. White Light 08-01-2006, 08:50 PM 2010 ='s buying a Mustang and screw GM for the rest of my life. from 2nd gen camaro lover Hawk 08-01-2006, 09:13 PM I had him look up challenger to, second quarter 2008 is scheduled launch date!! It says "All-New (LC23) 2nd Qtr. 2008 low-volume RWD mustang-fighter sport coupe based on LX platform w/ 5.7L/6.1L Hemi V8's, assembled in Brampton Ontario" Is that we have been hearing for challenger, or is that different??? Hawk 08-01-2006, 09:14 PM camaro says "All-new (GMX521) 3rd Qtr. 2009 re-launch Camaro Nameplate with all-new rear-drive sport coupe based on new zeta RWD platform" There's alot more info in there but I don't feel like typing a 10 page report, or having GM sue me, hehe. CamaroZ282008 08-01-2006, 10:00 PM not 2010 but fall 2006. I wish...This new Camaro need's to be out soon, because if it rolls into town say 2009 I guarantee you there will be a buzz. A very SMALL buzz. Camaro fans and Muscle car fans will embrace this car whenever it want's to appear, but any other audience GM may hope to capture like say G35, 350Z, Supra, RX-8 and S2000 will be gone. I say this because if the new Camaro comes out in 2009 so does a redesigned 350Z,G35,Supra and RX-8 and possible RX-7, a new S2000 in coupe form possibly. Not to mention the new 3 series coupe just hit showrooms. Also the 2009 Mustang will be a much tougher competitor style wise and powerwise in 2009 then now. So buying that new Camaro might not be as easy of a decision as once thought. GM BUILD IT NOW -please 2006 or 2007 would be nice. jg95z28 08-02-2006, 11:20 AM camaro says "All-new (GMX521) 3rd Qtr. 2009 re-launch Camaro Nameplate with all-new rear-drive sport coupe based on new zeta RWD platform" There's alot more info in there but I don't feel like typing a 10 page report, or having GM sue me, hehe. Sounds like the same document that was circulating almost two-years ago. Also talks about a Buick Roadmaster, correct? If this is the case, I wouldn't place too much accuracy in it as things have changed in the last two years. 91_z28_4me 08-02-2006, 12:53 PM Sounds like the same document that was circulating almost two-years ago. Also talks about a Buick Roadmaster, correct? If this is the case, I wouldn't place too much accuracy in it as things have changed in the last two years. That document used GMX284 for Camaro. GM wouldn't use a code as high as GMX521 for Camaro. I believe the numbers relate to 1. the chassis and 2. the size, Saturns next ION was GMX002 I believe to give you an idea. Also I don't know if the program is officially approved, and if not it may not have a GMX code! Hawk, what you likely have is a copy of an industry insider report, like what JD Powers puts out each year. The downside to this is that 1. it is based on speculation and 2. it comes out once a year and many decisions effecting Camaro may not have been made yet, or now for that matter. Do with the sheet like you would do with something you read online, take it with a grain of salt. As far as the Mustang fighter, LC23, the description you give for it fits Challenger almost exactly so I would assume that is what it is. | ||
