What would you do if GM doesn't produce the Camaro?

Theoretically, what would you do if GM doesn't produce the new Camaro? Me, I would go to my local Chevrolet dealer and place a giant sign in front of the showroom that would say "F-You [more explicit though] GM, I hope you go bankrupt and get bought out by Nissan/Toyota". As I'm driving away in my new Challenger of course.

I would buy a Challenger. I may buy the Challenger anyways, I am so torn between the two, or I may buy both, I just don't know.

Keep or buy another 4th gen...or buy rebuild a 1st gen. If all Id buy a Vette.

personally I am not at the point in my life where purchasing a coupe car would be wise, but the lack of a camaro would be a very large disappointment. But I could never bring myself to purchase a ford or chrysler anyway. Eventually with the new companies producing first gen bodies for cheaper nowadays that would be a fun project.

I would cry:cry: I would just save up for a Magnum R/T or SRT8, will need a family car by then anyway.

If I am actually in a position buy the 5th-gen in a couple years, but they decide NOT to make one, I'd probably go shopping for a Z06 instead?:shrug: (a used one I mean)

...and be EXTREMELY disappointed with GM, and feel very let down:(.

Do what everyone would do (regardless as to what they say, or what resentments they might carry). I'd simply buy whatever else tickles my fancy.

Ford has a perfectly good & fun-to-drive Mustang GT, and there's a "Boss" version that's in the short range future.

Chrysler will have a Challenger that has a real trunk, will hold real adults in the back seat, and will accelerate really, really quickly.

I might decide that a Charger R/T is the car I want. Or I might suffer a stroke that makes me lose my objections to FWD and buy a Comp G Grand Prix.

..or that Impala GM is working on might buck trends & come with a 6 speed manual and an "LS3" engine.

But all this is pretty moot anyway. The only way GM won't build a Camaro is if they have crashed and burned. Then it wouldn't matter anyway because we'd be looking a pretty serious economic wreckage.

A. Keep my SS (as I was planning on doing anyway)

B. Save a little longer and buy a Vette. :)

But I think it's a safe bet we'll see a new Camaro. :D

I'd have no problem buying a mustang. The Camaro has a much more special place in my heart, but I like Mustangs too.

I think a Challenger or C6 would be in my future if no 5thgen.

I would would NEVER buy another GM product again, and then I would buy the Mustang. Don't do that to us GM we will never forget it.

I have never owned a Camaro, so...

If the Camaro doesn't get built, I would have to try and figure out which company to move to as GM would be out of business.

I would never buy a NEW gm vehicle, I would tell my family and friends not to buy a new gm vehicle, but I might get a used vette from a private seller and then buy my any replacement parts on ebay. Pretty much wouldn't want any of my hard earned cash to go to GM, but I'm sure they'll build it so I won't have to go on my boycott campaign.

I'd buy a Vette or used GTO/CTS-V. I would be pissed but I have driven so many new GTs and I am still not impressed. I can't believe how slow they feel.

I'd learn all the trades I need to make the sheet metal, interior and miscellaneous parts to build my own.

Do nothing off course...What can you really do? It would be their loss cuz people will buy like a challenger or something.

I would mod my Aveo into the low 12's or high 11's.

I won't be surprised if they don't build it but am hoping they do.

I dont think I heard anyone mention the new GTO thats supposed to come out in 09 :shrug: Thats what I would seriously consider.

I'd take the money GM would have gotten for a 5th Gen and put it all into a 3rd gen. I personally think a clean 3rd gen is cooler than most 1st gens... You just don't see many nice 3rd gens... come to think of it, I may do that even if they do build the 5th gen...

Go get some beer and piddle on the 2 hopeless Camaro projects I already have and kick around a lightened 3rd gen with an LSx drivetrain.

I also like the Third Gen idea. I think there sexy looking cars.

I would be truly dissapointed , plain and simple. I really hope GM doesn't even have a second thought of canceling , even if the beancounters try to sway the Camaro project. If it doesn't get produced well it's off to buy a used c5 z06 Corvette, 09 Mustang GT or Challenger. I will NOT have a license plate saying GM suck's on my new Mustang as I respect GM and FORD and really wan't to see both companies back at their glory days doing good. At the same time though I won't be a happy camper by far if there's no Camaro by 2008 . GM BUILD IT, so I can purchase one along with all the other Camaro enthusist so we can bring the American Bada#$ muscle back to the streets.

1) Buy new GTO
2) Build an IROC, a mid 70's Super Duty T/A, or another 1st Gen Camaro, or a '69 Firebird
3) Buy an '05+ Mustang GT and build an 'Eleanor' clone

Be disappointed and deal with it.

See what's out there when I go for a new car and just buy what I like.

If the new Chevy's are as good looking as the pics of the new Malibu seem to be I'll get another Chevy. If not, I'll go with a 300 or Charger (assuming there isn't something totally new out there I like).

If they don't make the Camaro, would they still make the GTO? Would seem to make more sense to drop the GTO and make only the Camaro if they can only have one 2 door sports coupe. But if I liked the GTO and there was no Camaro, I'd consider it.

Or, if I need it, I'll get a Dakota (I'm actually looking into a new Dakota now. Has anyone heard if they are going to extend the Employee Pricing Plus on Dodge vehicles?).

Outside of cancelling my plans to buy a 5th-gen someday, I really don't think it would change my plans at all. I'd be disappointed, but I'd still buy a C6 someday (as I plan to do anyway), I'd still maintain my disdain for Mustangs, and I'd continue feeling that the Challenger is just not what I'm looking for in a car.

I would build my own starting with a 3rd gen vert, making a vert of course. Heck I don't think aside from the body panels it would be un-doable.

Also put in a crate LS7 for the power plant.:D

Well, I don't hate my life. My plan has been to pick up an '07 C6 and a used pickup truck for Home Depot duties.

I'd keep buying used f-bodies and/or Corvettes.

Right now the plan is to either keep my 91 Corvette until the new Camaro comes out, or get a nice C5 to replace the 91 and hold on to it until the new Camaro comes out.

If the Camaro doesn't come to fruition, I'll probably pick up a used C6 at that time, but honestly, I'd rather have the Camaro and a supercharger. :)

Nissan motors gets bashed alot here but i have got to admit that they have some good looking vehicles on the road. I'm not a truck person but even there pickups look pretty sharp decked out in full trim.

Its a shame that nissan has such a bad "ricer" rap, because for every fart-can-equipped-sentra with a jerk driving it on the road, theres a sharp looking 350z.

I would love to race a 350z or G35 simply because there such beautiful cars.(unless there verts:yuck: )

Nice choice as well. I don't think I'd rank it over a Mustang or if the price is similar, a Challenger.

A used Vette conv. or possibly the new Mustang Boss 302 if they don't do like the Shelby's and jack the price up 20K. Really want the new Camaro as my truck will be pd off in about the time it's supposed to come out and I'm not selling my current Z28.

If I could afford it Challenger which I really liked in person other than the interior which just looked 80's then GTO as I dont think the GTO will be retro.

Otherwise a used retro Mustang or a used econo car. I hope to afford a house sometime soon enough and that will dictate what I can afford car wise.

Well, I plan on buying a new camaro, especially if there is a big block available. Not sure how practical this will be with 3.00 dollar a gallon gas today. If the general denies me a new F body, I think I will build a "new" 1967camaro. By that time the reproduction 67 body will be available. (The 69 is available right now and costs 13,000 just for a body!!!! I hope the E85 fuel gets to my area soon and I will either buy or build a car to run on this alternative 105 octane fuel. Our dependence on foreign oil be damned!!!
