I'm looking to buy a rolling chassis that a 95 T-56 car, I want to put a A4 into it, it still has everything intact besides the engine and trans. So what i'm guessing I mostly need is a cross brace, trans cable, interior center console, computer... But i'm not sure what to do about the wiring harness thats needed that goes to the A4 trans that makes it shift right.... I have no idea whats its called but i had to get a newer style pig-tail to hook into my wiring harness (in my 94 Camaro when I went to a 97 Trans) And just the wiring harness that plugs into the side of the Trans. Do the T-56 have something like that on them? Any help is appreciated. Is there anything else you have to swap when you put a 4L80E in a 4L60E.

A 700R4 would be the easiest A4 swap. We build them for many applications that they never came in. We set the wiring for the lock-up up so that you only need a single "HOT" 12 volt source going to the transmission to make it work. With a 700R4, you'd need an A4 crossmember. A 700 is the same dimentions as a 4L60E. You'll also need a 1993 throttle body that has provisions for a TV cable. '93 F-Bodies came with 700R4's (4L60's). You'll need an A4 shifter, speedo gears, dipstick and tube, and an A4 driveshaft.
The lock-up 12V source should be ran through a brakelight switch. Another option is to convert it to a non lockup 700. This would make the installation extremely easy.

I'm really looking for a 4L80E swap, but would a 4L80 non electric trans be the same way with the TV cable? For some reason i'm just stuck on a 4L80E. But i need to know about the wiring harness and what not. Thanks for your info though. Were you ever signed up on the EFA board? Your name & car rings a bell. Thanks again.
Did you ever have a 98+ SS spoiler back about.... 4 or so year ago? If you did I think I bought it from you off of the EFA board...maybe thats where i remember you from.

Yes, I'm also a supporting vendor on EFA.
There are no non electronic 4L80's. The 3L80 is a TH400, but it was never offered as a non electronic 4 speed.
You'd have to buy a computer to work an '80E.
Why are you looking at an '80E? They're big, heavy, HP robbing units that are completely unnecessary.

Mostly the reason i'm looking for a 4L80E is because i'm building 500+ LT1 motor that i'm going to need something more than 4L60E to support it. I didn't necessarily think the 4L80E's were that bad. I know for sure I want an electronic OD trans. Thanks for your help Frank.

The 4L60E can be built to handle that much HP...IF it's built by the right place. We have many of them out there in that HP range.

I was thinking and hoping that you could build them. The car is going to be a weekend car mostly. Whether its hitting the track or just cruising down the highway. I seriously don't want a anything without overdrive. I'm partial to the 4L60E because I already have a nice extra Vigilante stall. Thanks again Frank.
BTW: just wondering, how much would you charge to build me a 500+ hp handling 4L60E? You could shoot me the answer in a Pm if you would like. Thanks
