PCM or MAD Z?

pcm tune, who is better? if equal, easier to order from

i also had that question. I sent an email to ion from madz28 yesterday mornin and still havent gotten a response, hmmmm:confused:

madz28.com has always done my setup right. shrug.

I'm happy with my Madz28 tune, it made a night/day difference. Both are very good tuners though and you will get a good job from either.

As for emails, I can only imagine he gets boatloads of needless emails like "Can you tune for this?" ect. Unless someone has a very unusual setup, there's no need to ask. Just order.

I was very happy with my Madz28 tune, I ordered the email flash-it-yourself package since I have the cable and laptop and it's a very painless solution. He does seem to be very slow on email response the times I've emailed him, to the tune of a week or more. I imagine he is merely swamped w/ emails as the above poster mentioned. Who knows, bottom line is you'll get a good tune in the end though for a great price.

I'm happy with my Bryan Herter / PCMforless OBDI conv. and tune... but I don't think you can go wrong with either one. These guys both have a good rep.

JP, you've pretty much hit the nail on the head. I often wish people would browse through the site a bit before emailing me, since the answers to 90% of the questions I get are there. I am currently working on a better website that will have more help available and other helpful features, which hopefully will make things easier since this 'help' is a bit dispersed throughout the different sections of the webpage right now (some of it is on the order sheet, some on the FAQ page, etc.)

You're also correct about ordering. Once an order is placed, I stick to the processing times in the FAQ section. Most times it is quicker than indicated there, but other times, USPS may screw up a delivery or a core may not be immediately available and the time reserved for shipping can meet the times indicated on the FAQ page.

As for answering emails, right now I answer most of them the same day, with an occasional lag of a day or two, so it has improved. ;)

I recommend getting a spare PCM if you're going to be "reguliarly" getting tune updates. It will assure a timely turn around as the guys will not being waiting for someone to return a core in order to set yours up. As I stated before I am quite happy with the service. After the cam "operation", I was quite relieved to start the car up and drive it now for two weeks without any "SES". :D

Okay I have a question for you guys then. Do you know if either sells PCMs? My stock PCM has a few areas failing and/or burnt up, so I'm thinking I need an entirely new PCM, and I might as well get it tuned while I'm at it. If either MadZ28 or PCM also sells new chips that would save me some time. I could buy one from them already programmed instead of sending one in to be programmed, since I can't cuz its jacked up.
Any recommendations on what I should do would be great guys.

Buy another PCM from the classified section (http://web.camaross.com/classifieds/showcat.php?cat=13). That's what I did to make life easier. :shrug:
