I have a 155 speedo from a 99' Z28. Would it work putting it in a 01' V6 Camaro? Does anyone know how the 155 speedo can be converted to metric?

I'm talking about the whole cluster you know? Not just an overlay.

Caution!

When installing a new I/P cluster (on the last 4th gen's) it must be synchronized to the SIR module!
You need a TECH2 ScanTool for this!

I can give you the exact procedure if you need

i dont know anything, but i think you'd need a 155 mph speed sensor as well

What do you mean it has to be synchronized to the SIR module? How and why? And are the sensors different?

I would not put a 155 on a v6 car. It would take to long to get there, if it can get there. if you want it for looks than its cool.

ive heard that everything will work besides the tach, since the tach on the 155 speedo reads for 8 cylinders instead of 6, so it will read lower or higher.

you have to get one from the exact same year...if you have a 99, you need to get one from a 99 z28.

I did this swap in my 97 RS...everything works, except the tach which reads low...this can be fixed with a tach adapter from dakota digital. "sgi-8" or something.

I don't know about the early 4th gens (93-97) but from the posts it sounds like just the tach will be off.

On the late 4th gens (98-02) I know the speed would at least be off.

Check out this from camarov6.com (http://forum.camarov6.com/showthread.php?t=69799). I think what "Antman" typed is true. The early 4th Gens have a tach problem, well mine anyway, the later ones shouldn't.
