I'll add my $0.02.. I'm a new tire owner


I have Eagle F1 GSD3's. THese are a very responsive tire. 275/35s in the front and 285/35's in the rear. They stick better from a dig.(compared to the old tires) It's been raining alot here and I've noticed that the wet traction is phenominal! -I don't want to push it too much, tho. THese tires are GREAT as far as wet traction!!!

The dry traction is great! The roads here are kind of slick no matter what tire you have, but these actually grip! I have a hard time breaking them loose w/ anything other than WOT. Again they are quite responsive, especially now seeing as I was driving w/ a 50 series sidewall.

The 35 series sidewall looses a small bit of ride quality, a little bumpier. Little or no road noise. Better road feel. Minimal trammeling concerns. Some, but not bad unless you're driving on a rutted up road.

Tire: 275/40/17 Kuhmo Ecsta MX all around.

I love these tires. They felt really greasy at first, but they've broken in nicely. I've put about 4,000 miles on them now. They are very responsive and corner fantastically. They hook better from a dig than the Goodyear all seasons i had on before, but i can break them loose when i try. Wet weather has been no problem for them either. We have some very rutted roads that pool water up a lot and i've never felt them hydroplane. For the price, you can't beat them... and they do great donuts!

Ditto, same here.

I had mine at an open track day at the local roadcourse, and they gave me great grip, and slowly and progressively gave way when you go above the limits in turns. They seem to like the heat!

Wet weather no problems so far either.

When its cold (like 30's and 40's) they get really hard and loose traction, but every summer hi perf tire out there gets that way.

Tire: 275/35/18 Kuhmo Ecsta Supras.

I do not like them Sam I am, I do not like then in the rain, I do not like them when its drained. I do not like them Sam I am, I do not like...uhhh green eggs and Kuhmo Ecsta Supras.

I get poor traction even with a mild set up, an auto, no stall, and dry pavement. Even warmed up they never hook.

Cooper Zeon ZPT 245 40 18

Zeon should stand for zero, thats about how muck traction i get out of these things, wet or dry doesnt matter. They have great treadwearbut they almost killed me on the interstate. I kicked my car into passing gear and they broke loose going 65 on damp pavement. Not a good thing with posi traction. If you want something for doing burnouts and doughnuts they work great. They came on the car and now im going up to a 285 35 18. I took it to the track expecting not to have any traction and it was worse than i could have imagined. jmo.

Can we add testimonials to these threads or are we trying not to dredge up old threads?

i just got the continental extreme contacts. they were pretty cheap like 85 a piece but i am not very happy with them. not very good traction at all, even for an all season, and they seem to be all over the road. when i put a few more miles on them i will update with wear and longevity

I have run and still do Yohohama ave es 100's. They are a good tire at a good price. Ive 60fted on them down 2.06 so i think they deserve some respect(and im no driver either). Sure the sidewalls are as hard as i would like but their okay.
When i was only runnging them in back i thought they improved the handling. When i got 2 more for the fronts i was even happier with them. Im on 245-50-16's and eagle f1 ds-g3's in my size are 140 a tire compard to 98 bucks, so im sticken with the yoko's.

weird to see someone like the es100s. they are just so hard to get any traction for me

hey bayer -z-28 just want to add .....i have the same tires , and i totally agree.....but you left out cold weather driving :) YOU DO NOT WANT TO GET ON THE GO PEDAL WHEN THE TEMP IS HOVERING AROUND FREEZING..........YOUR CAR BECOMES A HANDFULL!!:D just thought i would add that.....but other than that a real awesome tire!

I bought my tires from Discount Tire.

The brand is General Tire. The type is "General Exclaim UHP".

These tires have been great. They get excellent traction and are ZR rated. $103 a piece. As far as wear...I haven't had them rotated yet but they seem not to wear that fast.

So far i love these tires. Very soft, very grippy. I havent done a whole lot of handling tests yet, but the ones i've tried so far the car feels very very stable.

These tires have excellent dry traction. I have a 383 that runs mid 11's at over 116mph and these tires hook up pretty well on the street. most of the start of first gear is useless, even on ET streets but once your above 30mph or so, you can kick it and it will hook. Sometimes it will break loose for a split second but traction regains quickly. Any other tire i'm sure would be roasted off

The one thing i'm unsure of is these tires dont make noise at all. spin them off and they dont make noise. Push them in a corner and i havent heard squealing. Tire squeal sometimes helps determine how much more you can push the car but these tires are quiet. Both good and bad i guess. I cant complain.

Tread pattern looks good too. I like it

I dont drive in the rain so i cant say how well the wet traction would be but they are suppose to be good in that area as well

I have the M&H drag radials. 185/55/17 fronts and 390/40/17 rear. Traction is great!! Rears require minitubs and offset lca's.

I have about 400 miles on these tires. I am running them on the front only. These tires replaced my Bridgestone RE730's. These tires are very responsive and handle very well. They inspire more confidence in the corner and are predictable. They speak to you before they let go. The car now oversteers instead of understeers so I know they are gripping the ground very well.
I bought them on sale at tire rack for 107 dollars but normal price is 150ish per tire.. They produce little road noise. If you have any aftermarket exhaust you will not hear them. I can not comment on their wet traction as I have not driven in the rain but I'm sure they handle well under those conditions too.

Don't forget the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta.. These Tires aare great so far. I have 315/35/17 in the rear and 275/40/17 up front. Great dry weather traction and cornering. you will know exactly when the tires are ready to break traction. I will definitely buy these tires again. Not to mention they have a very aestheticly neat design.
