T/A KID 07-17-2006, 01:06 PM I have an LS1 front clip on my car and I ordered this Bumper last week, I think with what I have plan it will look killer.

BADST95 I heard you once say that your single plain bettered your LT1 intake by 70RWHP with your application. Reason be I have a LT4 intake opened for my Monoblade and the Runners were done by GTP. I am thinking about selling it and goin with a Unported Victor E intake with a Stock style Elbow since I can use my Monoblade. But I only plan to spin the motor to 6200 on my VRE 383 with Ported AFR heads, What do you think??

My engine made 80 rwhp more throughout the RPM range than a car that had a 396/AFR heads with an F1 (almost the same combo as mine... actually a "little better"). Comparing the two dyno graphs clearly showed the my car made more horsepower throughout the RPM range while both cars having identical peak power. I have seen that elbow that will allow the use of the
LT1 style throttle body and I think it will work nicely. That'll save you the expense of getting a Ford throttle body, buying new sensors, harness pig tails, and re-wiring the harness. In a mild application, you could use the stock PCM without much difficuly I would imagine. I used an Accel fuel injection manifold, had some porting done to it, removed the thermostat housing and welded it closed, and machined the intake to work with the heads. What's nice about the Accel intake manifold is that it has the fuel injector bosses already there and you can get it with the fuel rails. You can find it on www.mrgasket.com (p/n 74139). Go to the Accel fuel injection part of the web site. I didn't want to machine the heads even though it would have been easier to do so. If for some reason I wanted change my heads... it will be easier to sell them un-modified.

Yeh, I think yours looks sharp. Could you give me the dimensions of your intercooler and where to buy one?
I can't get myself to bring out the knife yet. I really like the looks of the 97 WS6 TA front end. I want it to look professional so anyone walking by would not notice it was not stock. I think some of those louvres you see on so many stock cars would look nice. I'm pretty good with fiberglass so I may end up "Macgyvering" one up.:)

CALL911 07-17-2006, 03:54 PM I definatly reccomend the FMIC. I don't care for the look of the hacked up bumpers though. I ran an air dam duct under my bumper to direct air to the FMIC, and although I am sure it doesn't do as well as the posts above, it still keeps my air temps low.
jrutland 07-17-2006, 04:33 PM I believe these are Schurters pictures. I posted them in another thread as well.

I8AStang 07-18-2006, 09:37 AM Lots of newer truck have 2.5 and 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust. I have been raiding the trash pile at our local muffler shop, and have gotten quite a bit of mandrel bent pipe for free. Around here every good redneck pays the muffler shop to yank the 3 inch mandrel bent tubing, and replace it with 2.5 crush bent duals with a flowmaster. Alot of it is even a low grade stainless (I think 409). The shop around doesn't care, I just ask and they roll their eyes and point to the scrap pile. If you don't mind dumpster diving, this yields free mandrel bent IC pipes.

I bought mine directly from Griffin. It took less than 2 weeks from the time that I ordered it to the time it was at my door. Part number cs-000ae-03 (4.212x30.00x13.232). I don't think that you'll be able to get that intercooler that quickly. Griffin has been having some trouble getting their products out in a timely manner.
I was thinking of using some louvers or grills from some of the newer cars or trucks, but they would not be as flexible (as I mean to form the mesh the way I wanted in order to follow the flow of the bumper) as the mesh that I got from Summit racing. I used some 3M body shop adhesive to mount the mesh and it hold wonderfully and the mesh really made the bumper quite solid.

Accel fuel injection manifold with fuel rails (p/n 74139)www.mrgasket.com
Wilson 90 degree intake elbow
Holley 95mm throttle body (Ford style)
Lokar Universal throttle cable
MSD 85 lbs. fuel injectors
Custom fabricated adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Ford TPS sensor and pigtail harness
GM TPI IAC sensor and pigtail harness
Grand National 3 bar MAP sensor and pigtail harness
Custom fabricated throttle bracket (used a part from the stock throttle bracket in order to retain the cruise control and welded it to the fabricated bracket)
I hope this helps. :D
Schurters LT1 07-18-2006, 10:19 PM thanks.....you have a ram air hood as well do you think it would fit under the reg T/A hood ?
thanks

It will not fit with the stock hood. I wanted it to, but it wasn't even close. I had the flange on Wilson elbow machined down half of it's original thickness. I used a Glasstek fiberglass ram air hood. I know one the owners and he put another piece of figerglass matting in my hood as I told him that the back of the hood would have to be "notched" in order to clear the intake set up... just to make it stronger.
