Hello all. Just thought I would share that the TA is up and running again. The current setup is a 355 forged motor, ported lt1 heads, Pro Turbo Systems Gen 2 hot parts, t70 with .96 exhaust, spearco air to water (not with water for dyno yet :( ),6 speed swap, racetronix fuel pump, 60lb injectors, lt1 edit tuned by me.

598rwhp & 600rwtq 7-1-06 graph on page 8
This pull was cut off at 5400rpm, 10 pounds of boost, 10.5/1 air/fuel, not much timing because this was on PUMP GAS.
Track times are coming soon but the ram clutch shattered on me :(

Thanks for looking, take care.

Awesome, your car looks sweet! I'd love to know what it runs!

I was thinking about the spec 4 since I already have a billet flywheel but if the price isn't too far off i may consider the twin. At least I was able to drive it around some, but after a few full boost shifts the ram went bye bye.

Those are nice numbers. If you don't mind my asking, how long did you have to wait for the PTK hot parts?

thanks for the kind words!! my 25th was an auto until i pulled the whole powertrain and stored it for my current fun (60k on car).

I don't mind telling anyone about my proturbo experience. I called those poor saps every other day for 6+ months until my kit was on its way. They do excellent quality work and to bolt on a kit of this calibre is worth every penny. That being said they seem to have no idea what a schedule is or how to estimate time (im sure its suppliers and such). If your in a rush take your car out to texas as those people seem to cut in line. Jose at forcedinductions was the main person i dealt with and i've seen him come under fire because things are behind as always it seems. He is not out to screw anyone but if he would start a business instead of a one man band things would be different (let me know when your hiring jose ;). He deemed it ok to hold all my parts until the hand made kit was on its way even though i paid up front in full (which wont happen again). I don't see anyone needing to complain until it gets like all those other out-of-business turbo companies. You should get your kit dont worry!!!

What was the reason for shutting down at 5400 and what exhaust are you running?

Shankels94TA
07-18-2006, 02:00 PM
Thanks guys....i did dyno with the big slicks on the prostars so that cost me some horsepower and a clutch apparently. Im going back to a white wheel for street use here soon.

Jon- i shut down at 5400 because with a 28inch slick and 3.23's i was doing 130mph plus on the dyno in 4th and i don't like that. but now with the driveshaft loop and some street wheels after the clutch ill rev it to 6200ish. Exhaust is straight down pipe until i get all the bugs worked out.

Street Twin is the way to go. I have never had a customer complain about that clutch yet.

Nice numbers, with water and some more tuning she has more to gain yet. Even on pump gas.

What size wheel is in that T70?

Shankels94TA
09-06-2006, 11:26 PM
In process of tearing the car down still but the end is near!!!

TransAm396- the wastegate is a tial 38mm and has been plenty tricky in setup

ChrisUlrich- P trim turbine wheel

What size in mm is a P Trim? haha Excuse my ignorance!

P-Trim is a larger than normal wheel. Its more laggy because of weight but its stronger for high boost.

Those Master Power turbos seem good. I had one in my drag civic but I only had that car for a month. Might boost my LT1 looking into a t-70 too.

Larger then normal... but whats normal? I don't mean to nitpick but I am just curious of the size of the trim in mm.

I am going to be boosting my 385 LT1 and I want to use an 80mm wheel in a T76GTS-H. I like the results I could be seeing A LOT on ONLY 10lbs when I plan to boost 20lbs.

The way I see it the stage 5 turbine wheel is a good choice for those looking at a Hi-HP street & strip monsters while the P-Trim and Q-Trim have a large amount of lag and should ONLY be used by those looking to obtain 700 + HP with supporting mods. The turbine's also change when going P or Q trim. Ill see if I can get the exact size but the big about almost twice the size.

That's great if these were 150ci engines. :D . You obviously haven't driven a 350 SBC with a 76MPS,76GTS or GT42.

If your goin with spec, just go stage 5, skip the stage 4...it still drives very nice, just barely stiffer than my old stage 3i. I see you live in GA, if you want, come by (Kennesaw) and you can drive my car to get a feel for the clutch if you'de like. Personally, i love it so far, and SPEC has been extraordinarily good to me in the past...

Howdy folks...its been awhile. The car is back together and should be running soon. Plumbing the intercooler water system with all braided lines has been a hassle but worth it. Ill post some more pics shortly and some vids once its running.

Lt1runner- I cleaned up and port matched the stock lt1 heads myself. I also installed ferrea valves with beehive springs. Why would you hope not?

Thanks again for all the kind words....any comments are always welcome.

Just being happy for you. Just hoping you dynoed that high with stock heads is all. The more HP you get the better it's looking for me. Congrat man. I know you've got more HP in there.

What are the chances of a S80 fitting with the PTK Gen 2 kit on your car ?

What are the chances of a S80 fitting with the PTK Gen 2 kit on your car ?

no chance

Biggest that will fit without mods to hotside is a T4 T76...upgradeable to an 80mm wheel.

The S80 is GT42 sized... way too big.

96SilverRam
10-29-2006, 11:02 AM
So with some mods could you get a T88 to fit ? What kind of HP will the
T76 with all the tricks support and the same thing for the T88 if it would fit.

TransAm396

I took half the PTK kit then had the rest custom. I bought the headers and cross over and then made the rest. The turbo goes where the battery goes...alot more room.
