Early Poll: Who's going to Bowling Green

Just thought I'd ask...I do this every year. I had every intention of going this year until I discovered the 15 year old car in my sig :) As I've said several times to friends, fixing up a clean old Camaro seems like a better way to spend cash than looking at a whole bunch of them 1,200 miles away ;)

Then again, if the resident Martian plans to bring the concept to the show...and why wouldn't he????...I may just need to add some credit card debt, finish the RS and head to BG anyway :)

The concept and I will be there........ :D

I haven't missed a year yet.... ;)

Something told me, Douglas, you would be the first to respond with an affirmative response regarding BG ;)

I'll be there with you guys in spirit...I'm busting my butt to get this car show-ready, and its getting close...but it won't be there by the time BG comes. I told myself the next time I go, it will be with the RS to help keep the miles down on the Z. I've put 20k miles on it in the 5 years I've had it....almost 25% of that mileage has been the 2 BG trips!

Something told me Scott already mentioned somewhere he was bringing the damn car...

The SSOA list is growing, so I know there will be a good crowd to hang out with while we're there.

*crawling out from under rock* Not to sound dumb, but I take it that there is a gathering in Bowling Green? Could someone hook a brother up with some info?

Thanks a stack. Would love to go, but don't think the budget will allow. (not to mention the wife)

I have the time off, but I am undecided if I will go this year. First year I went it was awesome. Last year, there were less people I knew there, and it seemed a bit ackward for some reason. Like when you are in a new school, and everyone is in their clicks and you know no one.

Definitely make it a point to participate in the evening activities and jump right in with our group (from Chirpthird.com) at the Continental Inn and/or Country Hearth. No need to feel shy....we love meeting new friends. Anyone is welcome to be a part of the fun! Just introduce yourself and tell us your screen name. I bet dollars to donuts that there are several of us from the board that are already familiar with you through your posts, and vice-versa!

I'm going to try and be there, jury's still out on whether it will be in the Camaro though.

Branden,

I know how you feel...hence why I always bring my girlfriend :D I always stay up the road at the Ramada off the next exit up, as I always wait too long to decide whether I'm going or not, and miss out on any open rooms at the Continental!!! I will say one thing...one memory I always laugh about from NAIAS was trying to find Beaver Road past Exit 69 in the Vagina Blue Equinox :D (For those of you wondering, YES that is a true story :D )

Art,
Wish I could see the 1LE :( Sounds like a great car.

I'll miss not seeing all of you...and Teri, just last night I put on the background of my computer a great shot from BG last fall of yours and my car lining up for the BBQ :) I think you're a masochist to swap white seats and white wheels onto a convertible, but our cars sure look pretty together ;)

I imagine it will be a bigger crowd this year (last year was a letdown for me, attendance-wise) due to the concept being there...I wish you all a great trip. Without a doubt, the RS will be there next year for sure!

I think you should change your mind ... even if you have drive down in a DCX offering.

Here's a "How not to AutoX" teaser. It's in the shop now getting a full repaint sans stripes plus black roof.

Only the wheels were swapped on. The white seats and convertible top were ordered with the car. It's the addition of the white door panels and shift boot that make us gluttons for punishment. :p

Would love to see you make it to B.G. again....... Post the pic for me...I need new desktop wallpaper.

I agree Jason you should bring down, oh I don't know a Charger SRT8 and see if Scott will let you line it up with the concept, or we could at least stage a few pics.;)

Art,
We really, REALLY want to go (especially since Ashleigh wasn't in Detroit in January...she's dying to see the concept), but she has no vacation time left, and its extremely hard for me to take time off from work at this point. I've been here for 4 months now, and I'm still working hard to clean up the mess left by the previous GSM. Between that, the fact that the RS has a little way to go before its show ready (its now mechanically 100%, but the LF corner is scuffed, the wheels need new clear, etc...), and the fact that my BG funds were re-routed to beginning the restoration on the RS...I gotta sit this one out :( On top of that, I don't have the guts to show up in a 300C, either :D Scott might have something to say about that!

Teri,
I forgot '98s had the white seats available! White door panels too???? Man, you guys really ARE up for a challenge :) I'll post the pic as soon as someone can explain to me how I can do that :)

I look forward to hearing how the meet goes...I'll be there next year for sure, but I reluctantly have to sit this year out :(

Would you guys accept me if I bought a new, non Chevy vehicle of mine? It is still GM, and LSx powered, but it has horns, and goes BAHHHHHHH! when you floor it;)
