Buick "revitalization"

This is an idea from GMI... they're apparently in the process of doing all of the GM brands to show what they feel would be a step in the right direction to revive certain brands. Including where they feel the current brands have gone wrong (like Buick is a tough one to figure out )

Buick Revitalization

I really think the 2009 Wildcat Gran Sport is a great looking car (too bad you can only see the back... the 2010 version's front end does NOT match that '09)

Re: Buick "revitalization"

After looking at the pics, if Buick were to produce cars with styling like that, I can foresee myself in a Buick.

Anyway you can post up the links for the other brands, mainly Pontiac? For some reason I can't get to it.

It would be interesting if buick went with "looks" to differentiate itself from the others since you cant differentiate Buick on price or class from other GM offerings.

IT would be interesting if they were midlux priced but had the look of a car that would not normally make it to production. Give them that luxurious exotic look at a price between pontiac\chevy high end and cadillac low\medium end.

A $68,000 Buick will crash and burn.

Buick is the only brand they've done so far... the page is just setup for when they actually get the others finished. I was really hoping to see the Pontiac line-up as well.

Re: Buick "revitalization"

I agree that the Power levels must be brought up to today's standards. The days of sub 250hp are over, except for econo boxes.
But also we tend to forget that Horsepower means little without some good torque numbers, I don't want 265hp with 200lbft of torque...acceleration will be just as slow.
The Supercharged V6's are a Blast to drive, why stop making them???
The V8's make for a solid, reliablity powerplant for towing, heavy luxo cars etc, Buick definitely needs more.
I own 2 Buicks, a Rendezvous and a Park Ave Ultra, I love both, they aren't like other GM offerings and they're solid, well thought out vehicles.
I'm not sure I want all Buicks looking like Corvette doner recipients, but I like some models looking sportier, just not to overlap Pontiac.

The Wildcat GS looks fabulous! I wonder how it will be priced? (Probably "fabulous", I fear.)

Those are different looking. If cadillac sticks with the futuristic "S" of A&S, then I would like to see buick go back to a swoopier style reminiscent of the automobile golden era.

Yep a Buick can't start above $45K. The brand just doesn't carry enough pull in the marketplace.

Re: Buick "revitalization"

If Buick actually built cars like that right now, I don't think there would be much doom and gloom around Buick.

I wonder what GMI will do for Pontiac? The all rwd rumor that went around, although a rumor, sounded like a good idea for the "performance" brand. Maybe make everything rwd, except for the G6?

Re: Buick "revitalization"

I could see those cars as 300C fighters..and about the same price point and market.

Man wish these designs were scooped up by GM and used..
