The pic of the red car... it looks great from the very front up to the B-pillar. After that it looks like the creative design team got fired and they just glued on a generic back end from some old scrapped design...

Agreed. It's gets real "Neon," real fast from the b-pillar back.

Rumors are that this iteration of the Evo will feature more than 300 horsepower, and will be put on a diet resulting in a curb weight significantly less than that of the current Evo.
Wow. People are already getting mid 12's out of the Evo 9 with just a flash and exhaust, and of course they handle well. This new one will be a beast if this rumor is true. Hopefully the new motor will be a worthy replacement for the 4g63.

The red one looks like a mix of a 99-03 Galant with a few attributes from a Mazda6.

when can we expect to see them with fart pipes and 747 wings?

MY08. You'd have to think Mitsu's got a lot riding on this car. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
