Re: time for upgrades

your car as just as fast as any ls1..... probably less fast being driven as hard as it probably was...

Okay, if you want to make power, longtubes are the ONLY way to go. For Cat-back do neither, unless you like the sound. best performance is magnaflow, gmmg, and SLP dual/duap. Now you can get a straight through design like the loudmouth too.

Keep in mind that a head/cam/bolt on project is going to run about $2500-3000 if you do the work yourself. I'm up to 1200 on my head cam swap, and I'm porting my own heads so i'm going about 800 dollars cheaper.

wow...you need to do ALOT more research. most of what you asked are very basic questions that a little reading or research would have answered.

since you say you want max power:

1- long tubes
2- no cats
3- true duals

as for the police package. i wasn't aware that the B4C cars could be gotten in 6spd.
and even if it did, the "package" didn't include all those things you list. it very easily could have been removed by the police mechanics while in duty.

and as stated, unless something on the engine was upgraded by the department mechanics, the car is not any more powerful than any other ls1. theoretically it could be faster due to less weight...but not enough to make a noticable difference.

you say you want a drag car....so you'll also have to look into suspension and good sticky tires

Re: time for upgrades

there are two mods i love more than my lid and exhaust, and that my kenny brown subframes, and 32mm sway bar. Speed isnt the only thing that makes these cars fun to drive.

there were no B4C or 1LE cars built in 1998 to my knowledge...they were ordered as fleet and had no special RPO codes
