The article in the NYTimes Business section today hinted that a vote would be held today at the Board of Directors meeting on whether to build the Camaro.
Any truth / Word of this on the street?
LPE427Fbird 07-07-2006, 03:50 PM interesting...might that vote have been added to the agenda becasue fo soemthing else??? things that make ya go hmmm...
SCNGENNFTHGEN 07-07-2006, 06:50 PM To hell with the slimes. The only thing I want to know about the slimes is when they will be charged with treason! I wouldn't wipe my keyster with that garbage. Cat box liner......yeah, that's about all its good for, but only if someone gives it to me, cuz I wouldn't spend a single dime of my hard earned $$$ on it.

SCNGENNFTHGEN 07-07-2006, 08:31 PM It's about time people wake up, and smell the putrid freaking stench that is permeating all around us, in this country. People are smilling in our faces and chopping our heads off as soon as we turn around. GM has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I CANNOT say enough how sick this whole thing is making me. I have not uttered the words general motors in days (besides on here), and believe me this is highly unusual. I espouse the virtues of the general on a daily basis, and I have friends who believe it or not, actually listen to me and am influenced by my words. Influenced to buy gm! Just image what I could do if I actually had an outlet, like these scum sucking pigs at the slimes. You can bet your asses I wouldn't use it against my country like they have been doing. I pray somehow this does not go through, as I cannot, and will not send $$$ to the french period. Believe me, I am NOT the only loyal GM fan sickened by this disgusting turn of events. :barf: I hope this greedy bastard keels over tonight in a painful heart attack. :death: SOB! Yeah I'm just a little pissed. Just a little story. My job was in need of a new work van. Now normally I would be in high gear to get them into a GM. They bought a ford.......I didn't even try!
Well, I didnt by the paper, the doctors where I work get it regularly, and I noticed the article and read it.
I dont really think this whole merger thing is good...
I wonder if it is / will effect the future of the camaro....
hrmm...

I hear ya. I read the trash that is put out at the doctors office too. And the slimes aren't the only ones shiving US in the back either, the list is long. I can't even pick up rolling bone (roll another one a-holes) anymore. It's supposed to be about music, but really its filled with garbage, slime magazine is no different. All you get is constant America sucks, our cars suck, and we're gay ******* cowboys :bs: from every angle, its no wonder people are clueless to the dangers that we are facing. And those who claim to be our friends are just hovering like freaking vultures just waiting for us to fall. Wake up knuckleheads. I am sickened! I want one real bad, but if one red sent is gonna go to you know who, its a. You know I'm not even gonna say what I'll build, cuz my luck, some rich jerk off will come in and **** that up too.
HuJass 07-08-2006, 11:25 AM SCNGENNFTHGEN,
May I suggest that you take a deep breath and just calm down a bit.
It appears as you've got 2 or 3 rants going on here.
And this is a forum for the Camaro. Let's keep it on track.
I know Chris and Jason like to keep political stuff out of these forums.
As for the proposed merger, we all hope it doesn't go thru. I think Wagoner will do whatever he can to fight it. However, we should be ever cognizant of the fact that hostile takeovers do occur in the business world. But that would be premature at this time. So let's just relax and watch this play out a bit. There'll be plenty of time for anger at a later date.

What he's saying is that the NYT (and other US media outlets), are attempting to purposely undermine the security of the United States, (by publishing top secret programs and methods) - and in fact facilitate our enemies, as they try to kill Americans - simply because they hate the current American administration, IMO.

Always enjoy your posts, but this one is just a bit over the top IMO. Hate the administration-very possible; try to help the enemy kill or guys-no way. We should spend A LOT less time vilifying each other, no matter what side of the political spectrum we're on. I lost an uncle in war, he was a great guy, ENLISTED to fight for his country, and was a liberal democrat. You can bet also that there are more than a few liberal guys and girls fighting for your freedom in Iraq and Afganistan.
This administration has been better at turning us against ourselves than any in my memory. Don't fall into the trap. We are ALL Americans.:D Just MO.
geeingu 07-09-2006, 12:44 AM im confused  how did this go from voting on the camaro to the war in Iraq ??? fill in the blanks please

Article about Camaro appeared in a newspaper that apparently spends its spare time revealing classified government programs directly tied to national security.
Discussion probably doesnt belong here, but I wouldnt even line catboxes with the New York Times anymore. And I hate cats. :p

Hey bro, doesn't matter to me if someome is liberal, conservative or as most people are - apolitical. But when you continuously publish details on secret programs and methods used to protect your country and your fellow countrymen, in order to sell more papers, appeal to your customer base or because you are invested in a specific political point of view.....well, that's treason in my book.
People need to go to jail.
dumbded down rednecks really need to grow the ***k up. if you want to spew your Bu**** then go somewhere else. This is a camaro message board not a right wing nazi propganda tool for you to praise your AWOL hero......................Heil Bushler !
SCNGENNFTHGEN 07-09-2006, 11:16 AM Sometimes the truth is way too frightening to face for some people. So they make up lies and people believe them, and let's face it conspiracy theories do have a certain flair don't they! Me I'm waiting for charges to be filed. For me the Camaro represents more than anything....else freedom. Without freedom there can be no Camaro. Treason is a crime that seems to go unpunished in this coutry. Propaganda is a funny word isn't it. The media puts out a ton of it all day long, and few seem to care that its against US. let them not forget who provides them with their freedoms. The truth is much harder to find than the lies that are all around us. Bottom line for me, I wouldn't believe ANYTHING published in the SLIMES about Camaro or anything else for that matter. They Are Scum.
HuJass 07-09-2006, 01:55 PM Ya know, we have a thing in the States called freedom of the press. If you don't like a particular paper, don't read it.
But to call for charges of treason? Are you all serious? This country was founded on the basis of freedom. I am appalled at the number of people that would like to, in a nutshell, curtail our freedom. Do all of you believe that the news we receive should be filtered by the government? Cuz, that's what it sounds like you are proposing. That's sounds like what a dictatorship-type government would have.
Don't you people get it? This is just a ploy by the conservative republicans and their mouthpieces to get re-elected. They are instilling the fear in you so that when they tell you that they can stop terrorism, you'll vote for them.
I, for one, want to know everything the government is up to. We pay taxes and elect these people; they HAVE to answer to us. That's one of the basic premises of democracy. Without that and accountability, what do you have? I shudder to think of the alternatives.
And again I say, this is a Camaro board. It's no place for politics!!

Quoted for Truth, every word of it, especially the last line!
Yeah... I was just trying to put out some information that I read in the paper... didnt mean to start a huge thing...

Interesting................you want stupid rednecks to grow up & spew their BS somewhere else, yet you seem to think it's perfectly acceptable for you to post that those on the "right wing" are Nazis and to equate Pres. Bush to Hitler.
.............needless to say I'm more than a little confused by your post.
Z284ever 07-09-2006, 04:26 PM But to call for charges of treason? Are you all serious?
Absolutely.
Certainly for those within the government, who are sworn to secrecy, who leak the info to the NYT.

I wouldnt have put it past the rag :D New York Times bashing GM without any research or facts. Some people are just bad people I guess.
Morginie 07-09-2006, 05:51 PM Its interesting, everyone has an opinion on something no matter how smart, dumb, fanatical, wise, or ignorant they are.

Jason, what promised to be at least an interesting thread about Camaro has degenerated into yet another BS garbage thread (this coming from someone who's actually been to the Middle East, not a chickenhawk sitting comfortably in front of television).
Best bet now is to close this thread.
It no longer serves any useful purpose regarding Camaro...... or anything else noteworthy for that matter.

"Today" was Friday. Here it is Sunday, and no rumors. If this were true, I wonder what the odds are that we may hear something about it on Monday?? Or, if they did give the "official" go-ahead, would they keep it quiet and wait to spring it on us at the "right time"?
We can hope I guess!
Chuck! 07-09-2006, 11:48 PM If the vote is true (did anyone actually confirm this?) they might wait for the Nissan thing to die down as to not steal any thunder from the actual annoucement.
Either that or they can annouce that they wont merge, and at the same time annouce a 475 hp Camaro with a big ass American flag behind it :)
