you can bet that both Ford and Chevy laid out some serious dough to get such coveted spots in the movie that debuts July 4th next year. And with the announcement that Chevy has approved the Camaro for production, the movie may just be the beginning of another Mustang vs. Camaro war to take place off the silver screen on our backroads and byways. Looks like Dodge should have announced the Challenger sooner.

ummm...okay why is everyone saying its greenlit BUT GM???

I think the term "jumping the gun" comes to mind.

OMG their going to build it.

Get over it, and just wait, they will build the car, even a retard could figure that out. All these guys around here that think they know trying to act all cool, well

Its funny to me, i respect Jason, and the other guys around here, but when it comes down to it, its really funny, they try to act all secrative, its completley clear that they will build it, i mean unless God comes down and tells Rick W. not to...which um ya, isnt going to happen. But everyone tries to act all cool like they know something. DUH, i know it too, they will build it.

They would'nt let people touch concepts, put them in movies, let people drive them, if they werent going to build it. Especially a 5 million dollar one.

PERIOD.

"Approved for production, the Camaro could see showrooms shortly after the movies release"

It seems like we are the last to know.

No, we are the last to quote true statements. Everything before that is unsubstantiated.

Trust me, when it is official, you will know right away via this site.

If GM wasn't so stupid they'd come out tomorrow and announce it with enthusiasm, but no. Why make people save and get excited over it?

Your right they should announce it and then wait almost 2 years, look how well that worked for the SSR.

There's more than an element of truth to that.

But yes, they jumped the gun on saying Camaro was approved. Bob Lutz has gone about as far as we're going to hear for awhile. Also, GM never announced the Cobalt, the C6, and a host of other cars.

I don't think we'll hear an announcement till a more production ready version is unveiled at NAIAS, perhaps as early as next season (a nearly production ready Saturn Aura was unveiled 1 1/2 years before production), following on the heels of the summer movie.

I don't think GM is going to let the public forget about the Camaro. I still think Camaro will be out within 24 months.
