i think your right... do you know what brand you are buying? if so look at that brands web site or any like slp and find out the years. i would check to see if they are bolt in or weld in also...

Some manufacturers (e.g. Spohn) make two different models of the SFC's for 93-97 and 98-02, because the fuel line routing is different on those years, and the front mounting point is right next to the fuel lines. On the Spohn SFC's, you can't use the 98-02 model on a 93-97.

MY UMI's are advertised 93-02. I think it is just the Spohn's that are like that

I think Spohn may have changed this because they advertise the same part number for both the 93-97s and the 98-02s. When I ordered the Spohn SFCs for my car from Speed Engineering, the box came in the mail and it said 98-02 part number 504. I called up about it and they said the same part number is used for all of the 93-02 cars.

Spohn may have modifed the front mount design for the 98-02 SFC's so they will fit all years. He uses my car for a lot of his stuff, and I know I sent him detailed photos of the fuel line routing so he could adapt them to the 93-97 cars. Although now he has his own 4th Gen to beat on :)
