Do I have to go to the dealer to get the rear end additive or can I get some additive from a local parts store when changing the rear end fluid?

Local part stores usually have limited slip additive... It might not be GM, but it works...:)

I believe NAPA carries actual GM additive.

I got mine from Autobone. It should say on the tube that it is equivalent to GM additive.

Just curious, but is there a reason you don't want the GM additive? Is there a better additive out there, or is it the cost? I mean, I think it's only ~$7 CDN$ a bottle, and you only need 1 bottle, right?

No I was just wondering if I would have to go to the dealership or not to get it. It's kinda a pain to deal with the guys at dealerships and wanted to avoid it.

The GM additive will work, while other brands may not. Don't know why this is so, but it sure is a hassle to have to go back to put in the GM stuff when the other does not work. I just buy the GM stuff the first time.

Alright, well I'll probly go up and try napa first to see if they got it. If they dont I guess it is off to the stealership.
