twistedwedge 11-09-2002, 10:44 PM Went to Bowling Green today....Car got 4.11's last week and we wanted to see what would happen...
60' 1.29
1/8 ?? time clock messed up
1/4 9.58@140.2
This was on a 300 shot (TNT plate kit)
the car also had a great day for 60 foot times.. best of 1.28.. also 1.29 and 1.32
Needless to say, he is pleased.. a good way to close out the season! The stock crank is still hangin in there!
yellow Z28 11-09-2002, 11:07 PM congrats to jason, thats totaly awsome!
Derrick Redd 11-10-2002, 08:15 PM   When my stock bottom end goes I'm just getting forged pistons and Eagle H-beams. If the stock crank can live up to that......well you get the picture. Congrats to Jason. :D
Guido 11-10-2002, 09:02 PM Kick ass!
Congrats!
Jason Short 11-10-2002, 10:04 PM Nice times Jason! On the stock crank no less either :)

And who says GM cant make good quality cranks? lol I wouldnt recommend you counting on the stock crank holding up, keep in mind he only drives the car occasionally. We joke around all the time calling his car the time bomb. That is why he was so gung ho every time he raced this year...wanted to get a good clean pass before the crank took off down the track ahead of the car;) It is walking, but I guess as long as everything walks together it will work..
He still seems to think it has a little more in it, we shall see next year I guess. I will have some times to post also. Damn car has been down way too long..
Thanks
Nostang 96z 11-11-2002, 01:00 PM Man that car gives me some hope....that thing is flat out flying. What kind of fuel system is on Jason's car? Does he run a separate fuel cell for the nitrous or just one big pump? Stock fuel lines? Thanks for the info.
Matt
blkchevyz 11-11-2002, 03:41 PM thats very impressive
did he shoot all 300 at once or was it a progressive/2stage
JeffB_94Z 11-11-2002, 04:06 PM any other details? what kind of motor? what car? weight? tranny? etc! thanks
BLWN1 11-13-2002, 11:26 AM Yeah really, gives us details, or Better yet give us Mr Warren!
A Small 427 11-13-2002, 12:07 PM details or not....thats a hell of a 60'....i would like to go 1.2x's:bow:

BLWN1 11-14-2002, 01:48 AM Where is his car located in Kentucky?
Do yo all plan to take it to Clay City the 24th for Car Wars?
dougg01 11-14-2002, 11:01 AM What rpm is he shifting at...?
What stall is he using..? I saw you posted what it flashed to on spray....what is it supposed to stall on the 'brake...?
Is he using the brake on that launch and if so, what rpm was he leaving at...?
How is that T-n-T plate configured to allow a 300shot...? Most companies discourage going over 200-225hp on a TPI/LT1 manifold plate wet kit.
I already heard he is still using the factory PCM. That gives me hope.
What fasteners is he using in the bottom-end...?
Internal balance (?) and with what damper/flywheel combination...?
I'm just Mr. ask-a-lot aren't I. We're hoping to try running some high 9s eventually and my plans are very near where Jason is now. I'm part of the kyfbodies and was present for the wheelstand exhibition earlier this year.
Were the front end limiters the key to keeping it down...? A change in pinion angle...? What...?
Many thanks for the info. It'd be nice to have Jason come out to a club meeting or gathering and share some tips and ideas so maybe we can give him some competition.
Nostang 96z 11-14-2002, 11:38 AM What's the car run N/A?
Thanks
Matt
dougg01 11-14-2002, 02:38 PM I think it turned arouhnd 380rwhp off the spray and around 390rwtq.
I figure with a good launch, the current gears and using the 'brake he'd run a high 11 or a little better at the current weight.
The car ain't setup to run N/A.
At least, that's my opinion.
twistedwedge 11-14-2002, 05:00 PM First of all, to answer matts question the car has never made a N/A pass. Doug you are exactly right in the reason why. The car simply isnt set up to run N/A, he chose the cam, stall, etc. based on nitrous. I imagine it would run some 11's though. The car went some high 7.5's@96 (1/8) on the motor when he had the
6-spd.
As far as dougs questions, I will try my best.
Shifts at 6600
The stall and tranny were built by Brad Ector (BradCo.) in Shepherdsville, KY. Never has tried to foot brake the car to see what the stall is.
He uses the brake every launch, that time I believe it was
2 stepped at 3300.
The plate can go up to 300, TNT will give you another jetting card to go higher HP #'s, all Jason did was switch primary feed to -6AN instead of the supplied -4AN. (I believe that is the only reason why companies discourage going higher than 225)
All he has as far as fasteners go is ARP rod and main bolts.
LT-1 ATI? pro-damper, SFI flexplate (not sure of brand) internal balance.
Travel limiters (only 1.5 inches of travel), Torque Arm adjustment to the bottom hole, and stiffer shock setting are the only things different from when he did the big wheelie.
He would be happy to answer any questions you may have, if you want e-mail me at twistedwedge@msn.com and I will give you his #.
Blwn1- We are both from LaGrange, KY. He is thinking about running in the race at clay city if he can get his wiring done. He was having some problems with the nitrous coming in and out the last few passes saturday. He is in the process of re-wiring the system as we speak.
Derrick Redd 11-16-2002, 12:10 AM   That video of the car was sick. The launch was simply brutal.  How does he get it to launch straight? Oh well.

Lots and lots of chassis tuning and good components....Actually on that pass he got out of the groove. My other buddy got the pass on video from the back and you can see when it drifts out of the groove in midair and starts laying down black marks (spinning) So, still more chassis tuning is in store, we have a new tuning setting to try next time...
Sucks cause he has never been able to try tuning the motor b/c we are always too busy with the chassis!
