Looking for somone with a 69 Camaro, or knowledge of their shifter and trans linkage

I have a 67 Firebird. When we rebuilt the engine(469) we also put a 700R4 transmission in. That was a few years ago. The car has sat since then, because we never messed with the thottle cable, kickdown cable, torque converter switch and shifter linkage.

I always liked the 69 Camaro horseshoe shifter, so I figured, why not put one in the Firebird, so I bought one, complete with the kit to convert it to for the 700R4. Now, I need to figure out where to mount the shifter and how to hook up the shift cable to the transmission. I really don't even know where to start.

I was hoping to find someone around town(I live in Milford) that has a Camaro with the hoseshoe shifter, that knows how it works and how the cable goes together and works.

I can pay for the technical assistance, or food and beer as payment, whatever you want.

I will look in the assembly manual to see if there are any dimensions. Could have let you looked at one in a car a couple of years ago. Everything I have now is manual transmission.
Do you have the lever for the transmission?

I am not sure. This is an inherited project and I am a bit overwhelmed with the whole thing.

I need to figure out a throttle cable setup, possibly putting a new throttle pedal in while I am at it. I also need to set up the kickdown cable and the torque converter lock up switch.

I also need to locate, mount, and connect the shifter to the transmission. This is probably going to be the biggest problem.

The assembly manual doesn't give dimensions. It assumes you already have the holes and brackets.

As for you throttle pedal and linkage. I believe the only pedal you can purchase (NOS) is the 6 cyl one. It will use a cable. That's what I did for my EFI conversion.

Thanks, I already know all about bowtie overdrives. I have a small list of parts that I plan to buy from them.

I saw a pedal on the jegs website made by lokar for a camaro, that should work in the firebird. It replaces the whole assembly and bolts into the existing holes. Also uses a cable.

I am going to the Fort Street cruise this weekend and will have to keep my eye open for consoles and shifter similar to what I bought, and take some photos and maybe even dimensions.
