Going from lt1 to ls1 is it that hard?SinisterSix 06-16-2006, 03:34 PM i have a 94 with a lt1 and well my engine died! and someonbe had such a great price on a ls1 how hard would it be for me to go to an ls1 Greed4Speed 06-16-2006, 04:11 PM Everything is different. americanmusscle 06-16-2006, 04:36 PM Biggest thing you notice is the low end torque your use to on an lt1 is gone, but when you punch it at WOT it keeps going unlike the lt1. Alot more power up top. You will have to get use to it. Im still trying to. I still miss my 95 Z:( . My SS makes up for that though. GhostZ28 06-16-2006, 04:53 PM Yeah LT1's feel faster to the untrianed driver, but when you open it up and have to fear having your mirrors ripping off! Is an LS1 swap your only option? Ask the V6 tech guys, they know alot about the conversion, it'd be the same process. You could probably save money parting out yours and selling the rolling chasis and buying a 99+ Z28 with 90k+ miles for around 7k, and with the money from the old Z probably cut it down to about 5. Greed4Speed 06-16-2006, 06:03 PM I think he is talking about the swap, not the feel. It would really be easier. Ben T. GhostZ28 06-17-2006, 03:20 AM Yeah it really isnt the same swapping in an ls1 in a car thats made for an LT1. No offence, but I dont think you can do it better than GM, so take the easy route and part that puppy out, and get an LS1 car. Plus i've seen people part out cars and make $3500+ without selling any drivetrain. Mike96z 06-19-2006, 05:44 PM Not that much different, you will need the LS1 Harness and PCM, the full engine assembly with the transmission. plug it in. but ull need k-member | ||
