Not sure where this goes need help buying tires.

buying new tires I've got 245 50 R16 and was mabey wanting to go o a lower profile to a 45 how big a difference is that.

If you have 16 inch wheels and go with a lower profile tire
its going to end up looking like bicycle tires

go for kumho ecsta supra 712 , 245 40zr16 . they are the best deal out there and look great. also handles like a champ in wet wheather conditions way better than the goodyears. I personally
am sittin on konig flight 17's and I went with 275 40zr17. I cant tell you how much better my car looks and handles:D

What he said :D I have those tires on my ride... I've had them on the car for a year and a half now with C~ 20K miles on them and they've worn quite well. I still have atleast 40% of the treat left with some hard driving. Can't beat the price on them either.

You might want to bump up to a 255 from the 245 if you are going to lower the profile. That may off-set the overall size issue for you...

I went from a 215/55-16 to a 225/50-16 on my wife's VW Passat and the overall diameter decreased like only .1 of an inch.

Check the tire guide at www.tirerack.com.

The tables will show what the diameter is of the size you are looking at over the original size.

If you have an HPP or another edit program, you can adjust the computer for tire size so your speedometer will be corrected. If that's the case, then it really doen't matter what you go with as far as speedo error...

thats funny I just bought the tires your talking about the kumhos I couldn't find those tires in 255 45 R16 so I just bought my same tires the 245 50 r16. Thanks guys
