I tryed the cable from aldlcable.com with the belkin USB converter and it worked on datamaster while the engine was off but soon as I started it, it would automatically go to "lost aldl connection" and stop recording but then if I let the engine stall out soon as it would die out it would start recording again. I pretty much messed with everything possible on datamaster trying to get it too work (handshaking, timing, rec #'s per sec, etc, etc) and verified that the volts on pin were not going down on my Pin M once the engine started, and even tryed to use a alternative power source and it still didn't work, so I sent the cable back..

Anyone use this moates cable:

It costs almost $90 with shipping with the adapter, is it worth it? Does it actually work? Does it still need to use a power source (Such as the cigarette lighter) or does it just get power through the USB (I can't see a lighter plug on the picture..)?

The reason, i'm kindof interested in trying this cable out is it claims that it goes straight to USB from the ALDL.. But what is this "RJ" connector and the why the need for this converter box if this is true?

I am using it and it works great with Datamaster. I got mine through PCMFORLESS and it comes with both pieces for $90 (I think). Great tool to have.

It gets power through the USB.
