car idles like ass on startup only need help

my car idles really badly and frequently stalls when i fire her up after shes been sitting for more than a couple of hours. but olnce she warms up she idles and drives fine.the rpms go up to 1500 thabn fall flat to 500 and than the cxar stalls. this just starteds after i got cvode 36 (maf burnoff relay). i re[placed the relay and the code is gone so the relay must be working. the only vaccum hose that disconnected is the egr and thats because it causes the idle to be bad. this was disconnected when i first got the car and it idled fine than so thats not the problem. any ideas anyone?

Try unplugging the MAF and starting it up.

If its better/fixed the MAF is bad.

It deffinately could be the MAF sense you just had your relay toast off. I'ld also look at the IAC valve, and possibly your TPS.

Also, if you take off your EGR valve and spray out the EGR valve and EGR passages on the intake with some good carb and choke cleaner, it should fix your EGR problem.

ill definately try that thing with the egr valve in the near future. currently i dont have money for gaskets so i cant replace/clean it or anything. and next time i start my car in the morning ill try disconnecting the maf first and see if that does anything.
