Hello everyone it's me again with that engine heating question. I removed the water and put in the coolant (Dexcool). The most it heats up while moving (highway or semislow) is approx. 96 C, which I think is normal (?), but when in stop & go traffic it went up to about 103 C. Not sure if it will increase further. But taking into consideration where I live and the time of the year, is this normal temp? Thanks, as always, for any feedback.

if i did the math correctly 103*C is approx 217*F, so yes that is a fairly normal temp.

yep 103 C = 217.4 F thats normal

Math looks good. When temps exceed 109*, then I would start to be concerned.

Just as a matter of interest, any long term (or immediate) damage can occur if one runs on high temp (example 104*C) for about 2 hours daily?

No. These motors were designed to run at those temps. That's why the first fan doesn't kick on until 219*F and the second at 228*F I believe. It's my understanding running the motor at these temps was done to burn off any moisture (H20) in the motor. Don't know how true that is though....
