I am not sure if this is advanced enough for you guys, but i need to know. I want to switch over to a carb and distributor set up and the only carb manifold i have seen for the lt1 is a dual plane and i want to run a single. I need to know how much work it takes to make one fit on our heads cause i have to much workin into my lt1 heads to just switch over to an older sbc motor.

The basics of it is TIG welding all the intake bolt holes in the heads. Redrilling for the correct Bolt pattern and Angle for the Gen1 Intake pattern. From there most typical Intake swap rules apply. Make sure the ports match up (due to possible head milling etc). Not something I'd wanna tackle with either guidance or some hot rodding experience. :)

good luck!

I say go for it ... LT1 intake manifolds are a dime a dozen .
I got a spare one for $200.00 .

About how much $$$ am i looking at? Is there any decent power to be made with the dual plane manifold that is made for our engine?

Honestly unless its an all-out race engine effort I don't see it being worth the hassle or the $$ of buying the intake, converting it, and the Throttle body over.....

The OEM intakes work pretty well really.

Then again it is your money. :)

I am mainly doing this to get away from computers. I have had enough of them and all of the sensors that go with them.
