Fuel Injector Clips?

Pulled off the old stock injectors last night, and in looking at the replacements they do not have the full circumfrence groove, so the stock clips won't work. Any idea on what I can use to hold them in? All I can come up with is bailing wire, and that aint cutting it.

The only thing that I could come up with that would require them would be to locate all of them the same depth into the intake manifold, as they would be "locked" into the fuel rail at the same distance. But hey, you are right, they sure can't fall out or anything. I will just bolt it back together, and once connected pull them up into the rail as far as possible.

So... Why does the factory have them?

That's what I had been wondering...... Aside from locating each of the injectors the same in the rail, I don't see any need for them. But I think that having them all located the same is important for consistent fuel delivery from cylinder to cylinder, as far as spray pattern and delivery timing. But who knows.

Well, now that I have put it together I understand. Without the clips, the injectors can actually bottom out in the rail, so when installed there is not enough penetration into the intake manifold. Especially since these were a tad shorter than the stockers. So, I had to position them myself to get them correctly sealed in both the rail and the manifold. But it works fine when all together.

when doing my motor swap i swapped to some SVO 19lbs and when i popped them in they would move around which botherd me. i could see vibs or a hard enough bump and then they would slide down for fuel to squeez out and that might poss cause a fire.
so i used my clips. take a good look at where the groove would be and you will see what looks as if it were filled in. take a remel and cut the groove. iv heard of someone else doing this, i think it was on the third gen list.
