is an l98 prom the same as an lb9 prom

According to my pcmforless directions yes. The two exceptions are the 85 TPI and all TBI had a totally different chip than all the others.

depends on the year, map cars they are different, the esc module is on the prom, 305 and 350 use different 1's
also what is writen on the chip is different

well im thinking of getting it reprogrammed and i have an l98 computer outta gta im pretty sure it was like an 89 it didnt have an air bag in it. it also had the craziest gauge options. the dash was full digital right down to a digital needle tac and it had a vehicle information display as well i had pics but that phone got destroyed. anyway back to the topic if i get the l98 chip reprogrammed would i have any problem putting it into my 305.

Im pretty sure thats 88, don't think 89 GTA had a digital dash

tell me whats letters are on the prom and I'll tell you what chip it is

if you put a stock L98 prom in it'll run super lean but it'll run,
I wouldn't recommend it,

really MAF cars don't need the whole prom to run, only needs the chip unless the car needs to go into limp mode,

I use just the chip adaptor in my car with a custom burn,
I burn chips,
