can anyone recommend a good set of headers that will fit both a 305 and a 350, i have a '91 tbi camaro and have enough money (about 1000$) for full exhaust (headers, off road y pipe, cut out in place of the cat, and cat back flows), but later on i am wanting to swap in a 350. does anyone have any recommendations?

external dimensions and bolt pattern is the same for both engines...so either will work fine.
oh...and a catback will have a single flowmaster muffler....NOT flowS:blah:

Either Hooker Super Comp 2055 headers or SLP's offerings (can't think of the name, but they have 1 3/4" primaries). Hookers will be slightly cheaper but the SLPs will perform better on the 350.

I bought these. My part # was EDL-68723 for my 1987 350TPI. The one for your 1991 is EDL-68753. This set includes the Y pipe for $399. Here's the link http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=EDL%2D68753&N=4294923429+4294839039+400065+4294908216+42949249 28+4294908198+115&autoview=sku I'm not sure if these would fit a 350 later though. Summit will know. I know they would not fit a 350 TPI.

I would look into Heddman Headers since you say your on a budget. They fit just as good or better than the Edelbrocks or SLP,just cost less.
I had them on my H/C/I 357 87 IROC and they were a great header, you just have to get an o2 sensor bung welded in by an exhaust shop for less then $20.

or they make long tubes as well:

I agree, on a budget heddman's are great. I have a set of the midlength heddmans and y-pipe on my '87 formula and they work great. I mated them to a hooker catback and it has a great sound to it. Ofcoarse, there's no cat. They should bolt right up to a 350 too. Although if you plan on building a fairly high performance 350 you might want to look into longtubes. Heddmans makes them too, also hooker, but you have to fab your exhaust.

i hadnt looked at heddmans before. the prices on summit were really cheap whereas some of the hookers were a good bit more. are you sure that the heddmans will perform as well hookers or SLP. also i have a good friend who does exhaust work and he said he would help me out. how much fabrication would be invloved in getting longtubes? and other than just getting the sound of an open cut out would it be worth getting one if i am getting full exhaust anyway? i mean there not that expensive.

Get Heddmans over the Edelbrock crap any day.
