Going to get a shift kit

Just picked up a new 12" (?) yank 2800 converter. I'll be putting in a small tranny cooler and would also like to get a shift kit plopped in too.

Transgo was recommended by my mechanic and 99% of the board too it seems :)I'll be doing it on setting "2".

Is this what everyone is using?

I also noticed from some other posts that probuilt uses a modified version of this kit (i think?) which apparently got rid of the torque managment(?) in the newest version, and someone mentioned it was meant to work better with 9.5" converters.

- Would I be better off not getting the modified kit and just get this one from ebay?
Are there any other "settings" I should be aware of?

If you are going to use the one from Ebay, "do not" add any spacers to the 2nd gear accumulator, as this will make the 1-2 part throttle shift way too firm. If your manual valve looks like the one in the instructions, do not grind on it, if not, grind carefully. For a better 2-3 shift, open the feed hole to .110. Make sure you use the Corvette servo, as this improves the 1-2 & 2-3 shift. This is the minimum needed here. If you have any questions on this, let me know?

Thanks for the speedy reply :)

From your site:
TransGo 4L60E Street/Strip Shift Kit w/Corvette Servo

The ebay one is a good bit cheaper, is this mainly because it does not contain the Corvette Servo? If thats the case I'll probalby purchase the parst from your site. I'll also have to talk with my mechanic about what he's already doen with my trans. I'm fairly transmisison illeterate, and will be bascially passing the info on to my trans guy to do, he may have already thrown the server into the tranny last rebuild :)

One last question:
** "do not" add any spacers to the 2nd gear accumulator
Was that in response to what i said in the first post:
"I'll be doing it on setting "2". "
Or are your referring to somethign else? I got this information from other board posts...

Again, I'm very new with transmissions, so bear with me... :)
