LS1 Brakes, will C5 calipers directly replace my Camaro calipers?

Question in subject.
I've got a 2000 SS. Will Brake calipers off a Corvette of the same year directly replace mine? Will they interfere with my OEM 10 spoke SS wheels, or other aftermarket 17" wheels?

You can use the LS1 calipers interchangeably with C5 calipers. For your information though, the LS1 calipers differ from the C5 calipers as follows:
LS1 f-bod vs C5
1. 43mm bore pistons versus 40mm pistons
2. Gravity cast (more porous and prone to spreading) versus pressure cast
3. Short stiffening ribs versus full width ribs for increased rigidity

You won't really see much braking difference if that is why you're switching. The big change would come with running C5 rotors.

Not looking for any real performance gain, my brakes are more then adequate for my use. I just want the visual appear of a powdercoated caliper.

are they a direct replacement for my current brakes? Will they fit over my 10 Spoke SS wheels?

Z06 calipers are exactly like the regular C5 calipers except they're powder coated red and I've found them less expensive.

you will use the stock lsx abutment bracket and pads. just the caliper is needed. nothing else needed. there's a thread on this already if you'll search for it. goes into immense detail that's not really needed, but it has pix too...so take it or leave it.

you will notice a little bit more pressure on the pedal due to the larger fluid capacity of the z06...but not much. i noticed a ton because i switched from ltx calipers.

If all you really want is the powder coating, I'd just get yours powder coated.

for the cost associated with having mine powder coated, and then having to rebuild the calipers as well (since you must dissasemble them prior to coating) not to mention the downtime, it's just easier to buy a set off ebay already "done" bolt them up, and sell my factory ones.

been done several times...and it's easier this way...i'm with him. it costed me almost 200 for new lsx calipers, then it would have been just over 60 bucks for powder, then i would have to do a brake job...and return the stockers for core...too much trouble
