4th Gen. Coolant Capacity?19z28camaro02 05-19-2006, 12:29 PM How coolant SHOULD a 4th gen LT1 hold?(radiator and resevior) MARKTHOMASBRAND 05-19-2006, 01:10 PM Hi there, According to my hand-book,cars with manual transmission hold 14.5L of coolant and autos hold 14.3L of coolant. This capacity is for the entire system,ie the block, radiator, reservoir, hoses etc. Hope this helps,Mark. Injuneer 05-19-2006, 02:35 PM For non-metric units, divide the numbers above by 3.78, or look in the Owner's Manual. If you don't have one, Shoebox has a link to an online copy. http://shbox.com/pdf/manuals.html shoebox 05-19-2006, 10:45 PM ...or elsewhere on my site it says: LT1 coolant capacities for the 4th gen F-body: With Manual Transmission - 15.3 quarts (14.5 L) With Automatic Transmission - 15.1 quarts (14.3 L) Dave89IROC 05-21-2006, 07:20 PM To the best that I could, I put some epoxy on the crack in my tank. It doesn't leak AS BAD as before, but it still does. Should do a more thorough job with the epoxy/take that off and use JB weld/ or what? personally, I'd replace the rad fredmr39 05-21-2006, 07:24 PM To the best that I could, I put some epoxy on the crack in my tank. Should do a more thorough job with the epoxy/take that off and use JB weld/ or what? huh?...what does that have to do with this thread, and further, Rob's post that you quoted?? I don't even know what "tank" you are talking about. The coolant resevoir? If that's the case, I would just buy a new one. Otherwise, define "tank," and possibly start a new thread. moparman 05-21-2006, 07:24 PM I think you'll end up replacing the radiator. Jazsun 05-21-2006, 10:16 PM Its two of those coolant jugs you buy at autozone. Injuneer 05-22-2006, 12:03 AM To the best that I could, I put some epoxy on the crack in my tank. It doesn't leak AS BAD as before, but it still does. Should do a more thorough job with the epoxy/take that off and use JB weld/ or what? Why are you hijacking someone else's thread. If you have a problem, and need help, start your own thread. Really discourteous. wdtiger 05-22-2006, 03:30 AM quite possible one of the best hijackings i've ever witnessed. fredmr39 05-22-2006, 08:02 PM And we really need a dozen people telling this guy the capacities are: With Manual Transmission - 15.3 quarts (14.5 L) With Automatic Transmission - 15.1 quarts (14.3 L) Once that information is given, I don't see a problem with asking a very closely related COOLANT question. :o That's not very closely related AT ALL. There are hundreds of problems that could deal with cooling systems. A very closely related question would be something like "does anybody happen to have those numbers in gallons?" -even though I believe the conversion was already given. | ||
