I need some mounts that will bolt in a old school motor to a 93 camaro. I have seen it done in magazines but never no info on it. Motor is on the stand next to an empty engine bay of the future beast. Thanks in advance.

I think you will have to find someone to fab up some for you.
Also on the headers i think you will need to put a old school flange on a LT1 Header.... The most fun part of your project will be the distributor I think. also you need to decide if you want electronic gauges or not.
Good luck with your project.

yes you will most likely have to have a set of mounts custom made for you if you are keeping the stock K member. If not they you can get a K member from many of the major brands with mounts for a early SBC alreay in place.

The distributor isn't the pain that everyone thinks it is. I cut out the bottom half of the cowl behind the windshield wiper and I'm able to pull the distributor out. I just have to take the cap off first. This is on my 95Z with a 454 BBC.
Plus I was able to make my own motor mounts on the K-member.
Heres a picture of my motor mounts that I made.

I am going to have to redo my mounts though. I need to drop the motor 2" so that my carb and windsheild wiper motor will fit together.
Heres a photo to get an idea of how it sits in the car.

Wrong. You can use stock lt1 headers, the flanges are the same. Im running long tube pacesetter ceramic lt1 headers. The distributor is cake. Im running mallory unilite and its soooo easy to work on. This point is dramatized by many people, but its actually no problem.
All of my stock gauges work perfectly, and i added a couple aftermarket ones just to be safe. LT1 mounts will work on 5 of the 6 bolt holes. The driver side lt1 mount has a bolt back towards the middle of the block and it has an arm coming from the mount extending to it. This is because there is a rubber mount in the way of the hole on that side (drivers side). All the pass side holes line up perfectly. Im going to try and figure out a solution for the driver side mount this summer incase my tubular k member every cracks. There is a ton of info on this stuff in the sbc/bbc section of ls1tech.com. Browse through or search for my name, strokinit383, i have probably posted in most of the threads. Let me know if you have any questions.

yeah stock mounts the easy way, also you may want to look for the gmpp carb intake for the lt1, then you can use your lt1 bottom end and just add in carb and dist.
