Re: 5th Gen Cop Car
I got pulled over in my Firehawk while driving through Kansas by a B4C car. It was actually pretty cool. I was traveling eastbound and he was going the other way. As soon as he passes even with me he hits the brakes and cuts into the median. A cloud of dirt and smoke consumed his car as he pulled onto the eastbound lanes. I wasn't even thinking that he was going to pull me over at this point. I was more in awe at the Dukes of Hazard move he just pulled. After he got behind me and we both pulled over we talked a little bit about both cars. He was a pretty cool guy. Only gave me a ticket for 76 when I was doing 92.

People who got pulled over would ask questions, and if the officer felt it was safe would allow people to get out their cars and check the cars out. In gas stations, it was common for car fans to ask to look under the hood (how I discovered the 5.0s had dual snorkels and ribbed alumunum "Powered By Ford" valve covers when I 1st came back from 5 years overseas) and tourist to take pictures posed next to the cars and the officer.
As police Mustangs became commonplace and other states started buying heaps of them the facination faded, but what you joke about is probally likely to happen should Camaro B4Cs return.

It will be interesting to see if they make another B4C model. Since the 4th gen didn't sell that many, I can't see it. I was surprised it stuck around until 2002, but then again after the Caprice 9C1 left in '96, Chevy didn't have much of a performance offering in the police market, except for the Camaro. In the end I think having the bragging rights of having the fastest pursuit vehicle in the country is worth it.
I am still waiting to see how the Charger is going to do in the police market, I don't think Impala will have much to worry about. Charger will mostly be a limited use vehicle like the Camaro, because it is really limited on space, getting someone that is in custody in the back is a nightmare.
I've heard that Kentucky State Police has a dozen or so on order to use as pursuit vehicles, to go along with there small fleet of '02 Camaro B4Cs

You would be surprised how many Americans are part of the Ontario Club.
We get cars from Michigan, New York and Ohio. You'd also be surprised to learn how many Canadians are part of American clubs.
Our 18th Annual show is June 9-10-11 in St.Catharines ON (near Niagara Falls). Last year we had about 250 cars.
