Any idea on how much of a gain a small shot would help in the 1/4 mile? Some kits start out as low as 35 to 50 HP, correct? I'm looking for results anyone might have for a car that already runs low 12's, high 11's. Also, does a puny shot like that help the 60ft. much?

If you are having trouble with traction already in the 60' range then a small shot will make it worse. If you are hooking up well and have the tires and suspension to do it then a small shot in the 60' will help out. A 50 shot will give you between .3 and .6 seconds off your 1/4 time. You might get 3-5 mph from it.

MeanGreen, thanks for the reply. Traction's really not a problem and I have a set of ETs that I will be using this year. I plan on not spraying thru the shifts (stock  trans) even with a small shot and if I bump up the HP level maybe I'll lock out 1st gear.

I tried spraying a 40-50hp shot last weekend in Maryland, it gave me a .07 increase in my '60 and actually put a few inches of air under the left front tire :D I went from a 1.72 to a 1.64 60' and it created that "stall wall" problem that sent the transmission into limp mode so I didn't get a clean pass.
If nothin else, the small shot of nitrous would put a bigger grin on your face when you launched :D

Twice last year. 1st time a 13.10 @ 105mph. Horrible 60 ft. on a hot day with many issues. Next time out a 12.64 @ 109mph with a 1.80 60ft. on another very hot day with half the problems worked out. Looking forward to this year. Very very low 12's should not be a problem. After that a small shot of juice will be in order. It's mid to high 11's or we step it up a notch and go for high 10's. No more fooling around. :D
