Nitto 555R Problems (315/35/17)

I put nittos on the rear last year. I mounted Nitto 315/35/17 (Drag radials) on my 17x11 TT2s. I've since put on maybe 7,000 kms. I've always ran them at 24psi becuase I've read that the centres wear out if you pressure them up too much. I took them to the track once and aired them down to 18psi. I did maybe 4 large burnouts with them since I've owned them, and the rest has been daily driving. I do, however, often drive the car on long highway trips to go home (which is 800 kms round trip).

The problem I am having is the centres are wearing out faster than the rest. Is the highway driving killing my tires or is this just normal for 315s??

What do you guys think???

My Dunlop SP8000's are the same way, same size. I run 25lbs. in them.

yeah you know its a DRAG RADIAL, right? with a treadwear of zero or the likes the tire will wear out prety quickly under normal driving conditions. On that size the center will wear faster no matter what pressure you have it at.

Yea keyword is Drag Radial...not meant for highway trips

you are running too much pressure. I ran mine at 15psi and they wear pretty damn even.
