CPT they are supporting vendor and have a great rep. on the board. Do a search that will turn up all the info you need.

I know that you are probably after a performance (built) transmission. I am on my 3rd trans now. From experience, go to a local (within reasonable traveling distance) trans shop and have it done there. Get some kind of warranty and ask them to upgrade the most obvious and unobvious parts.
Any shop that will give about a 1 yr warranty knows they are building quality.

I'm not sure if your interested or not but I have a stocker from my 1994 that works flawlessly. I just took it out two weeks ago and its in perfect condition. Check out the classifieds or Nother Eastern forum sections for the listing.

If you want a built one talk to CPT or Pro Built Automatics. I got a Pro Street from Pro Built and its simply awesome. [Reason I pulled my stocker]

Your 94 Stocker won't work in his 95...

I would also have to disagree with Dansean1 - It is well known that local builders can't do the 4l60e justice. They most of the time do a rebuild to stock specs with factory replacement material and neve fix the problems with these trannies.

I went with CPT when I had mine rebuilt, great guys and very Knowledgable...

BTW, there is a Drivetrain section that this should probably be in, and these questions are answered over there too, plus there is a lot of good info in the stickies that show what youmight need to look out for and why...

I believe it will work, but its not just a bolt in and drive. Perhaps thats what you mean? It can be done I have spoke with tranny experts on this.

Please limit posts on "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech" to engine-specific topics.

Moving to "Drivetrain".

Do a search, the TCC lockup is controled differently between the 2 years, you would need to add a different electrical conector, another solenoid to control the TCC lockup, and then wire it up, yes it could be done, and could cost a decent amount to do, but nothing that you should not tell people about when attempting to sell it as a direct swap...

Thats my whole post, where did I attempt to sell the tranny as a direct bolt in? Ah, I didnt...;) I just thought I'd offer, for all we know he could be a huge DIY kinda guy and up to the challenge  Had he said he was interested I would have explained what was needed to be done to swap the tranny in before I sold it. Although saying it "wont work" is just plain incorrect. I've done my searching and done my research, I know what it takes to have it done. Same with getting a 700R4 into a 4th Gen, and 4L60E in a 93'.

I do agree that local builders from most areas cant do a 4L60E worth anything, unless you live next to Pro Built or CPT.

Your right Dustin, You never attempted to sell it to him that as a direct replacment. I just inferred that from his post of asking where to buy one specifically for a 95 (per the title), and you offering him the one you were selling...

A '94 unit won't work in a '95.

As far as "where to get a 4L60E built. If you want the best, click the link below.

As far as a "local transmission shop"??? You're kidding, right? Check with most of the other members on this board that have had a 4L60E built by a "local shop". You'll hear alot of horror stories. It takes someone with a great deal of knowledge to get a 4L60E to survive in a performance enviroment.
