Take it to Autozone (or other parts store) any have the codes read off the car (usually for free). The codes will tell you what is wrong.

Almost impossible to answer a question like this, even if you had included the basic info about the car, like the year, engine, model, etc. Without that basic info, it becomes impossible to help you.

Add a "signature" with the basic info about your car.

Some years the trouble codes can be flashed on the SES light, others require an OBD-I or OBD-II scan tool.

It's typically free, just walk in there and ask'em.

They checked mine free, but it was slow in the store. I think they generally want you to put a deposit on the scan tool, do your checking, and return it for a refund. Aamco has been advertising about a free check engine light readout lately. But . . . I'm here and you're there.

Autozone will only pull codes on a '96 and up.
