The dealership dented my fikse

To make a long story short, I took my car to the dealership for a problem and it came back with two new problems. When turning on the lights the right light doesn't pop up any more and to top it off, they chipped/dented part of my right rim and it's pretty deep. Sticks out like a sore thumb. They gave me the car back yesterday and I saw this today when I was taking it out of the garage.

The thing that ticks me off is these two new problems weren't there when I took it in. It's also going to be pretty expensive to fix the rim now.
They also washed the car when I asked them twice not to but I won't worry about that.

Do you guys know what I could do about this? I haven't gone over there yet since I've been working. Anyway I can get some justice over this? Any feedback is greatly appreciated (before I go raise hell).

Thanks,

Johnny

Tell the Service Manager about what happened, then contact the BBB.

That's one way I could do it. Thanks. Any others?

I'm about to tomorrow. Just thought I'd ask before I go tomorrow. I'll let you guys know what happens.

My little girl has a play tomorrow after work, I guess I'll just have to make time. So busy and now this.

Well you dont want to go in there screaming and yelling. First talk to your service advisor, and if he doesnt cooperate then ask to see the service manager. As hard as it may sound, you have to stay calm or your not going to accomplish anything.

First, be calm about it and if they don't cooperate, then go a-wall. :D

Sorry about the wait. They brushed me off saying I should have told them the day the car came off the lot. I didn't know you had to check every inch of the car when leaving the dealership. What to do now? BBB? They kept brushing me off. I called, left messages, but I could never get a hold of the big guy there untill last week. He ask me why I didn't come sooner. I told him I came back, called, left messages, Left my number but nada. Then he says nope, can't help you. So I asked for his card nicely and that was it.

Edit: he even told me I could fix it myself by getting a grinder and just grinding it on the spot they dented. He said it would look much better. I just wanted to laugh

So what's the next move? I'm calmer now, it's just a rim

you complain to a higher authority. if they cooperate, you'll be reimbursed for the inconvinience. If that happens, the dealer just ****ed up, because not only will they have to take care of the damage, but now they have a pissed off customer that (assuming) wont ever return, and detour future business from them

thats why i just take care of my customers before it reaches the level of being a possible complaint. They will just end up getting the **** free anyways, might as well keep a complaint off the records

If it makes u feel better, I had a similar, yet worse experience w/my BMW
I took it into the shop to diagnose a low rev/stalling problem and they found out it was the MAF. Well, they had the car for a week just to replace the MAF and when it came out it was a totally different car! The left front wheel was vibrating and shook the steering wheelm especially under braking and cornering. Also, the shifting was terrible. It felt clunky and unsure, where as before both problems were non-existant. I talked to the manager the next day over the phone, since I got it back when they were closing. They must have benn F'ing around with stuff they weresn't even remotely suppose to touch, b/c lets face it changing a MAF is not gonna screw up your wheel or anything to do w/the transmission. Anyways, I got the same treatment, they said they didn't do it and that I could bring it back to them to be fixed, but not for free. I was and still am pissed that the car is a pain to drive now, but i sucked it up. The BMW won't be around long anyways, but still that is no excuse for them.

That's not true, people are much more likely to walk all over you if you stay calm. People don't like confrontation, so they are more likely to resolve the situation in a faster manner.

I'm guessing you must work at a dealership...

Assuming you mean AWOL (military term for Absent Without Leave), what good would that do?

I don't think AWOL was the term you wanted. :D

I agree, go in there and raise hell, the last thing they would want is a scene in front of other workers and customers... They have already brushed you off, how could it hurt?
